Not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ turns us into people who do not recognize His power and mercy. Therefore, the punishment will be the penalty of eternal damnation.
Those who never knew him will be punished by God; eternal fire will fall on them. We can also mention those who did know him but turned away from the ways of the Lord; judgment will fall upon them with great fury.
The apostle Paul makes a statement in 2 Thessalonians 1:8 for those who persecuted the Thessalonians: These will suffer the penalty of eternal damnation.
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Those who do not obey the gospel and oppose the mighty work of God will be consumed by the judgment of the Lord on that day. The God of heaven will punish them for persecuting those who keep his word.
At that time, the church of Christ suffered much persecution from those who did not recognize the Lord as their God and only savior. However, there were also many willing to receive death for the cause of Christ. These truly knew that one day they would be raised up and live for eternity. But those who turned away from Christ will receive eternal punishment.
Brothers in faith in Christ, let us not allow our faith to faint. Let us continue to believe in our Lord even if they persecute us, because those who persecute the church of Christ will receive the punishment of eternal perdition, and the fire will consume them all.
