How to be saved

How can we be saved? What are we saved from? Is there a key to achieving that salvation? These are all coherent questions that people ask each day, and all those questions have answers, but the truth is that there is no personal key for us to be saved, there is no effective method to achieve salvation, the only thing that can make us saved and completely free is the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Human beings often search for formulas, rituals, or religious practices that can guarantee salvation. Many believe that by doing good works, attending church, or living a morally acceptable life, they can earn God’s favor. However, the Bible makes it clear that salvation is not achieved by human effort or personal merit. Salvation is a gift from God, granted by grace, and received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not something we can buy, negotiate, or earn by our own strength.

The apostle Paul told us about this:

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:8-9

These verses show us that salvation is accessible and near. It is not reserved for a special group of people or for those with great knowledge or status. The word of faith is near to us, available to every person who is willing to believe. Confessing Jesus as Lord is not merely repeating words; it is acknowledging His authority, surrendering our lives to Him, and trusting fully in what He has done.

Everything is about Jesus, our Christ is the gospel, and without Christ, without His death, without His resurrection, without any of this there is no gospel. A person who claims to believe in God and does not believe in His Son Jesus, then false is, because he who denies the Son also denies the Father. The message of salvation is centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ, not on religious systems or human traditions.

Christ came to rescue humanity from sin, death, and eternal separation from God. Sin is not only about immoral actions; it is a condition of the human heart that separates us from a holy God. No matter how good we try to be, sin leaves us incapable of restoring our relationship with God on our own. That is why Christ’s sacrifice was necessary. On the cross, Jesus took our place, bearing the punishment that belonged to us, so that we could be reconciled to God.

Brothers, Christ is the Cornerstone and there is no other name in which we can be saved except in the name of Christ. Do you want to be saved? The only way to be saved is by confessing that Jesus is the Lord, believing firmly in Him and in His promises. Faith is not blind optimism; it is trust grounded in the truth of God’s Word and in the historical reality of Christ’s resurrection.

Christ is the only one who can make us free from sin and hell, we find our hopes in Him and we must trust that He rose from the dead, and believe this above all things, although certain people want to say that this is not true. The resurrection is the foundation of our hope, because it proves that death was defeated and that eternal life is available to all who believe.

Salvation, therefore, is not about what we do for God, but about what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Our response is to believe, to confess Him as Lord, and to live a life transformed by His grace. When we truly understand this, our hearts are filled with gratitude, humility, and hope, knowing that our salvation rests securely in Christ alone.

  1. How to be saved
    =============
    In my experience, I notice that in general people only think about working, earning money and enjoying life; but few think about the future in heaven or in hell, from the point of view that God does not exist, people think: “let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we shall die.”

    If you meet a person to whom you speak about God, the Lord Jesus Christ or a judgment which is to come for humanity, they do not believe your words.

    Similarly, you may meet someone, among them, who lives perniciously in sin; and they will say to you that their lives are their own and you should mind your own business.

    And lastly, you may find some educated people with orderly lives, each of them with a job and a family; and you may have the opportunity to speak with them a little about God and the future. But soon they wonder and even ask you: “What are we to be saved from?” They do not feel guilty for anything.

    By the Bible we have received a notice—and this is in writing—which all people ought to pay attention to:

    “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
    (Romans 3:23)

    And the consequence of that is all people need a solution for their future, so they will not come short of the glory of God forever.

    “And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27)

    The Lord God does not want anyone to perish, but that they might come to repentance. He sent his beloved Son to the World so that those who believe in Him will have everlasting life.

    “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
    (John 3:16)

    May the Lord God work by his Spirit in all those that are called to receive Jesus, the Son of God, so that they have everlasting life.
