The Lord is my hope

The Lord is our hope, He is the one who helps us overcome all fear, in Him we hold and do not fall because He is our strong Rock, and if we are holding on to that rock we will not fall, because God Himself will sustain us.

The Anchor of the Soul: Establishing Our Hope in the Eternal Rock

A person without faith and without hope, does not stand on His own, nor will know how to wait because does not yet know what it is to be hopeful. But when we are close to our God, we already have hope, because His own word tells us that only in Him we should trust because He is our hope, who keeps us, cares for us, frees the captive, restores the heart of the afflicted. Truly I call this hope. The absence of divine hope leaves the human spirit vulnerable to the shifting sands of circumstance. However, when we anchor our existence in the unchanging character of the Almighty, we are granted a stability that surpasses all earthly understanding. This hope is not merely a wish, but a spiritual certainty that allows us to navigate the turbulent waters of life with absolute confidence in the One who holds the stars in place.

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
Psalm 71:1

We must keep in mind that God is our refuge, He will not leave us in shame before those who want to hurt us because He is always attentive to us. He watches over His children, is fair to them and helps them and strengthens them. The refuge of the Lord is a fortress impenetrable by fear and doubt. When we align our trust with His sovereign will, we are covered by His shadow and guarded by His eternal vigilance. He is the righteous Judge and the faithful Protector, ensuring that those who wait upon Him are never forsaken or silenced by the accusations of a world that fails to comprehend the depth of our security in Him.

The Contrast of Faith and the Weight of Shame

But all those who have no hope and who are not fully trusted in Him, for this will be ashamed, mistreated, and humiliated for not believing and trusting, testifying that there is a God in whom we can have confidence. Unbelief acts as a weight that drags the soul into the depths of confusion. Conversely, the life of the believer stands as a living testimony to the efficacy of divine trust. When we walk in confidence, we are not relying on our own strength or the favor of men; we are drawing from an inexhaustible reservoir of grace that remains full even when the world around us is dry. This confidence serves as a beacon of light, drawing others to the realization that their only true security lies in the Creator of all things.

For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.
Psalm 71:5

It is good that each day, we rise confidently in the Lord, believing in Him and having faith that He will help us in all difficult moments, because under His wings we are safe, even when we were born and His wings covered us. The continuity of God’s care spans the entire arc of our existence, from our very first breath until the final day of our earthly pilgrimage. To rise in confidence is to acknowledge that the same hand that sustained us in our youth is the same hand that guides us in our maturity. There is no season of life beyond the reach of His mercy, and there is no trial so profound that it can separate us from the sheltering wings of His protection.

By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
Psalm 71:6

The Perfect Design and the Response of Adoration

It is wonderful to see how God made all things, we can also see how He made the perfect man. Even so, we have sinned, we have failed and He forgives us, that is why all praise, adoration and exaltation must be for Him, because He is worthy of all things, they exist and live through Him. The grandeur of His creation is only surpassed by the brilliance of His grace in redemption. While our failures are undeniable, the efficacy of His forgiveness is absolute. When we reflect on the divine order and our subsequent restoration, our only logical response is a lifestyle characterized by perpetual praise. He is the Alpha and the Omega of our journey, and every beat of our hearts is a reminder that we belong to Him by design and by covenant.

Hope in God is not something temporary or fragile; it is a solid conviction born from knowing the character of the One who sustains the universe. When we speak of hope, we speak of an anchor for the soul, something that steadies us in moments of anguish, uncertainty or spiritual drought. The psalmist himself knew this reality, for he went through deserts of affliction yet always returned to the truth that God was his strength. This should remind us that hope is not the absence of trials but the certainty that God walks with us through them. A solid conviction is built upon the bedrocks of past faithfulness and future promise. When we anchor ourselves in this reality, we find that the storms of life, while intense, lose their power to move us. Hope is the spiritual vision that sees beyond the present darkness, identifying the dawn of His intervention long before it breaks the horizon.

The Sovereignty of Hope Over Adversity

There are seasons in life when we feel overwhelmed, when the future seems blurry and our efforts insufficient. In those moments, human hope fades, but divine hope grows. Why? Because it is not based on our abilities but on God’s eternal faithfulness. His promises have sustained generations, and the same God who upheld David, Moses, Elijah, and countless believers throughout history is the same God who supports us today. This continuity of grace strengthens our confidence, teaching us that hope is not merely emotional but spiritual and deeply rooted in the nature of God. The fading of human resources is often the catalyst for the flourishing of divine reliance. When our own strength reaches its terminus, the infinite power of the Spirit begins to operate in and through us with greater clarity. This is the exchange of the Gospel: our weakness for His strength, our uncertainty for His absolute sovereign wisdom.

When fear tries to dominate our hearts, hope speaks louder. It reminds us that we are not alone, that the Lord fights for us, that He surrounds us with His mercy, and that He has purposes beyond our understanding. Hope transforms despair into praise and weakness into strength. It encourages us to walk forward even when circumstances tell us to stop. Fear thrives in the isolation of the mind, but hope flourishes in the community of the Spirit. By focusing our gaze on the character of the Warrior-King, we find that the battlefield of our circumstances is already under His management. Hope is the voice that whispers the truth of victory into the ears of the fearful heart, drowning out the lies of the enemy with the reality of God’s presence.

Cultivating a Legacy of Unshakeable Trust

Therefore, let us cultivate hope daily. Let us meditate on God’s works, remember His past faithfulness, and trust His future care. A heart filled with hope is a heart filled with peace, because it rests in the One who cannot fail. May our lives continually reflect that unshakable trust in God, declaring with confidence that our hope is in the Lord now and forever. Cultivation is the daily habit of anchoring the mind in the truth of Scripture. As we commit our ways to the Lord, we discover that our peace becomes a fortress that guards us from the anxiety of the unknown. Our trust is not a destination but a trajectory, a continuous movement toward the throne where grace abounds. Walk in this light today, knowing that the God of our salvation is our present help in every time of need, and that His mercy endures to all generations, providing a foundation that will never crumble. Stay anchored in this truth, for you are held by the One who has promised never to leave nor forsake those who put their trust in Him. Let your testimony resonate with the power of this hope, and watch as your life becomes a beacon of confidence for all who are searching for the same peace that you have found. Continue to lean on the Rock, continue to draw from the well of His grace, and continue to proclaim that He is Lord, the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end, the source of every good gift, and the eternal hope of all who call upon His name in spirit and in truth. There is no safer place to exist than in the center of His will, and there is no greater joy than to live a life fueled by the certainty of His unwavering love and the perfection of His sovereign plan for your life, forever and ever, Amen.

  1. The Lord is my hope

There are many people that say God does not exist, and that all things that we see have been formed by fate, by chance, a big explosion, “the big Bang”, that has transformed all things from an original source.
But we are sure this world has been created by the power of God, by his Will. He has blessed a people by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has redeemed it from death and the power of Satan.

We believe in that God, in the Lord Jesus Christ, and by that faith we have everlasting Life.

We await new heavens and earth where dwells justice. the justice of God, a spiritual being almighty that we know by the Bible, and in whom we believe.

He is our hope to live and to be saved from the punishment that will be received by those that have rejected his love and mercy, those that have not repented of their evil deeds. They have not given themselves up to Jesus, the Lord, so that he might save them.
By contrast, all those that have believed, have their behaviour and their lives changed. Their hope is in the Lord.

“For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.” Psalm 71:5

The Lord God showed his love to the world sending his beloved Son with a message of salvation: the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

This is our hope. We do not trust in goods of this World, like money or material possessions, like houses or lands, honor or glory of this world: but we hope in Jesus Christ, who has done everything possible for us to be admitted in his family, the family of God.

Our sights are set on the Heavens, where the Lord, God of heaven and earth, is. The Lord is our hope.

Let us all, his people, give glory and praise to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose name be blessed for ever. And glory to the Holy Spirit that works in us, Amen
