The love of God is wonderful, it is real, it is perfect, and the most important thing is that when that love enters each of our hearts, we feel different because we have given way to God’s love to enter and take control of everything our interior.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7
When we begin to read John’s first letter in its chapter 4 and verse 7 we see John exhorting about the love of Christ, exhorting us to show Christ’s love for others.
Everyone who has love is because has been born again. Remember something very important and is that if we have love we can give love to our neighbor, as the word of the Lord says.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:16
What must we do to have that true and eternal love? First of all, we must accept Christ as our only and sufficient savior and ask Him to dwell in us. The love of God remains in us if we abide in Him, because if His love is not in us, we will not have peace, because that peace is produced by the One who is love, and that superior being is called God.
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17
Christ suffered for our sins on the cross of Calvary, so that we may have life, love, peace, and so that we may have new strength every day. Let us not lose heart because God is with us, let us continue trusting in Him.
When we speak about the love of God, we are referring to something that goes far beyond human understanding. Human love is often fragile, conditioned, and easily influenced by circumstances. But the love of God is eternal and unchangeable. It does not depend on our emotions, failures, or merits; it comes directly from His nature, because God Himself is love. His love reaches us even in our darkest moments, offering mercy when we have failed and strength when we feel weak.
This is why the apostle John repeatedly emphasized that those who know God must also walk in love. It is not optional; it is the evidence of a transformed life. A heart touched by grace cannot remain the same, for divine love pushes us to reflect the character of Christ in our actions, words, and relationships. To love as Christ loved means forgiving those who offended us, embracing those who are hurting, and extending compassion even when it is not deserved.
Many times, believers face difficulties in loving others because human nature tends toward pride, selfishness, and resentment. However, the Scriptures remind us that we can love only because He first loved us. When we meditate on the sacrifice of Christ, our hearts are softened. The cross is the greatest demonstration of unconditional love: He gave Himself for people who rejected Him, mocked Him, and nailed Him to the cross. If that love dwells in us, it must also flow through us.
Abiding in the love of God means cultivating a relationship with Him every day. Through prayer, Scripture reading, worship, and obedience, we allow His presence to shape our character. The more we seek Him, the more His love transforms us from within. And as that transformation occurs, fear begins to disappear, because perfect love casts out fear. We no longer walk overwhelmed by guilt, anxiety, or uncertainty; instead, we walk in the assurance that God is for us and that nothing can separate us from His love.
Finally, living in the love of God gives us confidence for today and hope for eternity. As the apostle wrote, love is perfected in us so we may have boldness in the day of judgment. This confidence is not based on our perfection but on the work of Christ in us. Therefore, let us continue growing in love, allowing God to fill every area of our hearts, so that we may shine as lights in a world that desperately needs to know His perfect and eternal love.

God loves you
============
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:16
In fact God loves us so much that he thought of his people before they were born and commended His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to pay our debt for despising Him, His Law, so that we were not separated eternally from his presence.
When we were yet sinners Christ took our place to be punished instead of us.
And He did it for love, because he loved us and will love us for ever. God does not change.
This tells us the apostle Paul writing to the Roman church:
“But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
We are commanded to have mercy on others and love them too, to love our brothers especially.
We show our love to God if we love our brothers. Then God dwells in us and His love is perfected in us.
“No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1John 4:12
We can see how important love is in our lives. God is love and we must truly love Him through Jesus Christ, loving our brothers, so our love is proved.
May the Lord God guide us to love Him, loving our brothers.
