God is God forever

God is considered a supreme being, that is, someone who surpasses us in power, intelligence, and authority. But for the Christian, He is not merely “considered” supreme—He truly is the Supreme Being. This is not a myth, an invention, or a philosophical idea; it is a living reality that we proclaim and testify about. It is essential that we understand who God is, because many times our knowledge of Him is superficial. And when our understanding of God is shallow, our faith becomes fragile; but when our understanding deepens, our trust, worship, and obedience become stronger and more genuine.

In every generation, humanity has attempted to define God according to its own limited understanding. Some reduce Him to an abstract force, others to a distant being, and many reshape Him according to their emotions or cultural preferences. However, the God of the Bible is not defined by human imagination. He reveals Himself through His Word, and it is only through that revelation that we can truly know Him.

The Greatness and Supremacy of God

Dear brother, our God is great, powerful, majestic, and infinitely glorious. His attributes transcend the natural realm. His strength is incomparable, His wisdom is unsearchable, and His authority is absolute. He has no rivals, no equals, and no limitations. There is no one who can stand against Him, no one who can challenge His will, and no one who can surpass His power.

That is our God—powerful in battle, immense in glory, and perfect in every way. His power exceeds the vastness of the oceans, the greatness of the universe, and the highest achievements of human knowledge. Science cannot explain Him fully, the heavens cannot contain Him, and human language cannot describe Him completely. Everything that exists is sustained by His word, and every force in creation depends entirely on Him.

Our God is sovereign, eternal, and unchanging. He does not evolve, improve, or adapt. He is perfect in Himself. What He was, He is; and what He is, He will always be. There is no shadow of change in Him. This truth alone should fill our hearts with reverence and awe.

The Eternal Nature of God

The psalmist declared a profound truth about God:

1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Psalm 90:1-2

These words reveal one of the most important attributes of God: His eternity. God does not have a beginning or an end. He was not created, and He does not depend on anything for His existence. Before the mountains existed, before the earth was formed, before time itself began—He already was God.

This truth separates God from everything else. Everything in creation has a starting point, but God does not. Everything changes, but God remains the same. Everything depends on something else, but God depends on nothing. He is self-existent, the great “I AM,” the One who simply is.

The Error of Making God Dependent on Man

There are many misconceptions circulating today, even within Christian circles. One of the most dangerous is the idea that God needs us in order to be God. Some teachings suggest that without humanity, God would be incomplete, lonely, or unable to demonstrate His power.

This is a serious distortion of who God truly is. God does not depend on us—we depend entirely on Him. He was fully God before creation existed, and He would remain fully God even if creation did not exist.

The psalmist understood this clearly. God is God from eternity, independent, self-sufficient, and complete in Himself. He does not need our existence to validate His identity. Instead, our existence is sustained by Him. Every breath we take, every moment we live, is a gift that comes from His sustaining power.

To believe that God depends on man is to lower Him to the level of creation. It is to misunderstand His nature and diminish His glory. But when we understand that He is fully independent, our perspective changes. We begin to see Him as He truly is—holy, sovereign, and completely self-sufficient.

The Incomprehensible Depth of God

The psalmist recognized the greatness of God, yet even he understood that God’s fullness could never be completely comprehended. It would take eternity to know God, and even then, we would not reach complete understanding.

God is infinite, and we are finite. This means that our knowledge of Him will always be partial. However, this should not discourage us—it should inspire us. The fact that we can never fully exhaust the knowledge of God means that there is always more to discover, more to admire, and more to worship.

We are called to meditate on His attributes: His holiness, His majesty, His justice, His mercy, and His sovereignty. Each of these reveals a different aspect of His character, and together they form a picture of a God who is both عظioso and near, both powerful and compassionate.

The more we know Him, the more our hearts bow in reverence. True knowledge of God does not produce pride—it produces humility. It leads us to worship, to surrender, and to recognize our complete dependence on Him.

The Transforming Power of Knowing God

Knowing God in a biblical way transforms every aspect of the Christian life. It is not merely intellectual knowledge; it is relational, experiential, and life-changing.

The more we know about God, the stronger our faith becomes. When we understand His character, we trust Him more deeply. When we understand His promises, we hold onto them more firmly. When we understand His power, we fear less and rest more.

For example, when we know that God is eternal, we trust His timing. We no longer rush or panic when things do not happen as quickly as we expect. When we know that He is sovereign, we rest in His plans, even when we do not understand them. When we know that He is almighty, we stop fearing the circumstances that threaten us.

A correct understanding of God produces a stable and unshakable faith. It anchors our soul in truth, giving us confidence in the midst of uncertainty. It transforms our worship, making it deeper and more sincere. It shapes our obedience, making it joyful rather than burdensome.

Worship That Flows from True Knowledge

Worship is directly connected to how we see God. If our view of God is small, our worship will be shallow. But if our understanding of God is عظioso, our worship will be passionate and reverent.

We cannot worship a God we do not truly know. That is why it is essential to study His Word, meditate on His attributes, and seek to understand Him as He has revealed Himself.

True worship is not just singing or expressing emotions. It is a response to who God is. It is recognizing His greatness, submitting to His authority, and delighting in His presence. When we understand His holiness, we approach Him with reverence. When we understand His mercy, we approach Him with gratitude. When we understand His sovereignty, we approach Him with trust.

Living in the Light of God’s Greatness

Understanding who God is should not remain only in our minds—it must shape how we live. Our daily life should reflect the greatness of the God we serve.

When we face trials, we remember that God is greater than our problems. When we feel weak, we remember that His strength is sufficient. When we feel uncertain, we remember that His wisdom is perfect.

Knowing God produces confidence, peace, and perseverance. It gives us the ability to stand firm in difficult times and to remain faithful even when circumstances are challenging.

The Highest Pursuit of the Christian Life

Ultimately, knowing God is the highest pursuit of the Christian life. It is greater than any achievement, any possession, or any experience this world can offer.

Everything else fades, but God remains. And the more we know Him, the more we realize that He is all we truly need.

May we never be satisfied with a superficial understanding of God. May we seek Him deeply, study His Word faithfully, and grow in our knowledge of Him daily. And as we do, may our lives be transformed, our faith strengthened, and our hearts filled with awe and worship.

For our God is not small—He is infinite, eternal, and glorious beyond measure.

In my Father's house are many mansions
Our help is in the name of the Lord

The biblical teaching about our Sovereign God defines Him as the Creator of all things we can see; and He also made those things which are not still seen by anybody in this world or other worlds.

This is what inspired the people of God who wrote about Him. They said He was from the beginning of times, and they recognized his power and majesty, as recorded in Acts, chapter 4, verse 24:

“And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, you are God, which have made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:”

Some time before this happened, the psalmist inspired by the Spirit expressed:
“Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”
    Psalm 90:1-2

By faith we accept God’s existence, which is denied by unbelievers. But on the last day they shall receive the manifestation of God and his Christ, who was sent to this World to save all who believe in Him as the Son of God. And all unbelievers will be punished for their sins.
But then it will be too late, because now is salvation’s day, while mankind lives here on this earth.

The Bible tells us about God, His power, justice, and mercy upon people who admit their errors and ask Him for pardon—those who ask Him to receive them in his heavenly Home.
By faith in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross, all people who believe are saved from an eternal damnation, in a terrible place separate of God.
