In the Bible we find multiple promises for the people of God, and these promises have never passed or will be overlooked, because we serve a God who fulfills everything He says and we must firmly believe in Him. We can quickly review God’s promises that were fulfilled: God promised Abraham a son whose offspring would be like the stars of heaven and that was fulfilled, on the other hand, God promised the people of Israel to leave Egypt and it was also fulfilled, and so we find in the Scriptures many other promises by God that were fulfilled, since God does not lie.
The Scriptures say:
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Joel 2:28-29
This prophecy of Joel is fulfilled in chapter two of the book of the Acts of the Apostles, because after the departure of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit was poured out on those who were waiting there in the promise, and received new tongues, and people who were from other nations could understand them in their own language. Was not that glorious?
The death of Christ and His resurrection has given us the benefit of eternal life and He has left us His Spirit, who consoles us at every moment. They received that promise, not because they were better than us, but because when God promises something He fulfills it. Also at that time the glory of God was displayed and it was a sign for every person gathered there that God is powerful.
Beloved brothers, let us hope in the promises of God, let us not weaken though we see that it takes a long time, since faithful is the one who has promised.
