Sometimes we feel that we are alone, helpless, we feel that God is not at our side, but it is not so, because He always covers us and frees us from our adversaries.
The psalmist David had difficult moments, he felt lonely, he had no help, sometimes he had doubts about God accompanying him, that is why he made these supplications, asking the Lord not to turn away from him.
But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
God never left this humble man alone, who was chosen to be king of Israel, but there were times when the psalmist David failed in the presence of God, that is why he was afraid that God would leave him alone, because he knew he had done it wrong.
It is remarkable to see David’s expression, asking God to help him, because He was his strength, who else could come in his help but God? That’s why he did not want God to leave him alone, but to walk with him.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
Our total trust must be placed in the Lord, as well as this man, who asked God not to turn away from him, because in the midst of his anguish he asked God to be his strength and his help.
That is why it is good that each day we ask God, just like this man, who humbled himself before God and made supplication so that the Lord would not abandon him, because he knew that without God he could not do anything, any battle could be lost, because God is God of the armies who has not lost a battle.
Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
God must always be our trust, because we can not trust in another, man tends to fail, but God does not. He is faithful and He fights our battles, as the psalmist David says, “Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns”. God is strong and courageous, He is faithful and will not turn away from us because His love and great mercy are upon us.
