The hands of God have always delivered us from the evil one, sometimes we think that the hands of the Lord are not holding us, but it is not so, God is always watching over us.
It is good that before all the trials that we are going through, we stand steadfast before God asking Him to strengthen us and help us to stand steadfast, discarding everything that is not pleasing to God.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:8
In the letter of James we are urged to get closer to God every day, because when we get closer to God and say “Lord, I am here”, then He will come to us and help us.
People of double mind are those who at certain moments do something very encouraged, but then change their attitude, and what they previously did with encouragement, strength, and love, they do not do it anymore. This is the attitude of a double-minded person, so it is good that people who are of double mind come to the Lord and ask Him to purify their hearts every day.
When our hearts are purified by God, we are taking care of being double-minded people, and in addition, this purification to our heart helps us to get rid of all the bad influences that are around us.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
James 4:10
Let us not forget that if we live is for God, that is why we should give all glory to Him and humble ourselves before Him recognizing that only the Lord makes everything possible, He will help us to serve Him with all our heart and with all our strength.
When we draw near to God with sincerity, something extraordinary happens within us. The presence of the Lord begins to shape our character, soften our heart, and give us clarity in the midst of confusion. Many times the pressures of life overwhelm us, and it may seem that our spiritual strength is running out, but the moment we bow before Him and cry out for His help, His comforting hand lifts us up and renews our hope. God never rejects a humble heart; instead, He draws near with tenderness and gives new courage to those who seek Him wholeheartedly.
One of the greatest blessings of approaching God is that He removes from our heart the divisions that often disturb our spiritual walk. A double-minded person lives between two worlds: wanting to please God, yet easily distracted by what the world offers. This internal struggle produces instability, discouragement, and spiritual exhaustion. But when we surrender our whole heart to God, He aligns our thoughts, purifies our desires, and strengthens our will so that we can walk firmly in His ways. This purification is not something we achieve by our own strength; it is the transforming work of the Holy Spirit operating daily within us.
Therefore, humbling ourselves before the Lord is not a sign of weakness, but of wisdom. The more we recognize our dependence on Him, the more He lifts us up and sustains us. God exalts those who bow before His presence, not with earthly honors but with spiritual strength, inner peace, and a renewed purpose. When we understand that our life belongs entirely to Him, our steps become stable, our decisions become clearer, and our soul finds rest. Let us continue approaching the Lord every day, confident that His hands will never let us go, and that He will lift us up in due time.
