The Bible tells us a lot about love, about loving each other and introduces love as the most important part. Jesus taught us how to truly love, since His love was without barriers, was taken to die to a cross, endured the reproach and everything for love to us, that’s why John says: “Because God so loved world, which he has given to his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost anymore, may have eternal life (John 3:16). “
1 John 3:16-18 dice:
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
John is practically saying that God’s love is about Christ giving His life for us and that we should be practicing this by laying down our lives for our brothers and sisters. Remember well the primitive church, the book of the Acts of the apostles emphasizes that they had everything in common, that they were unanimous together, that is, the pain of one was the pain of the other, the need of one was the need of the other , they did have the sample of what genuine love was in Christ Jesus.
The Bible also tells us that true love does not seek its own, but rather it suffers, it endures everything, it expects everything, love is not overcome by evil and love is the greatest that can exist and many times as such we can not even define it, but we can be sure of something: the greatest example of love is Jesus Christ, His sacrifice on the cross, loving us without limits, dying for sinners who deserved hell and even so He decided love us with His eternal love.
Let us love one another in the love of the Lord and in this way let us show the world the love of God.
