We have probably heard or read the name god (with a lowercase g), with which they have called mythical objects or characters in cartoons, films and in many cultures. However, through all the Scriptures we learn that there has only existed and there is a God Father and Creator of all things, to whom must be given honor and power.
The apostle Paul made this very clear to the Corinthians and told them:
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1 Corinthians 8:5-6
Paul made it clear that there is only one true God, although some want to use this great qualifier to attribute it to something else, to those who they call gods who simply have no power, cannot move, and have to be taken by humans to different places because they have no breath of life.
Psalm 110 tells us about those false gods saying that they have an ear but can not hear, they have a mouth but they can not speak, they have feet but they can not walk. However, our God, is almighty and reigns with power and glory, He does not need anyone to take Him anywhere, He is powerful to bring down thunder and make the sun rise over all mankind.
Brothers, no matter how many gods the human being has invented, for us there is only one God and Creator of all things.
