He has made everything beautiful in its time

God’s creation is perfect because God Himself is perfect. He is the divine Architect of all things, and through His power everything came into existence. Therefore, when we contemplate the world around us, we are reminded that God created all things with wisdom, order, and purpose.

Every morning, when we open our eyes to a new day, we are surrounded by silent testimonies of the greatness of the Lord. We do not always stop to think about it, but creation is constantly preaching to us. The light that enters through the window, the trees that move with the wind, the birds that sing before the sun fully rises, the clouds that travel across the sky, the rivers that continue their course, and the air that fills our lungs all speak of a Creator who sustains everything by His power.

Nothing around us exists by accident. The beauty of the earth, the order of the seasons, the rhythm of day and night, and the harmony of nature point us to a truth that cannot be ignored: there is a God who made everything. He did not create without purpose. He did not speak without wisdom. He did not form the heavens and the earth without intention. Everything that exists came from Him, belongs to Him, and continues under His sovereign authority.

The Perfection of God Seen in Creation

When we say that God’s creation is perfect, we are not saying that the world is free from the effects of sin. Since the fall of man, creation has suffered corruption, pain, death, and disorder. However, even in a fallen world, we can still see the fingerprints of God’s original design. The majesty of mountains, the depth of the oceans, the beauty of flowers, the precision of the human body, and the vastness of the universe still declare that God is wise, powerful, and glorious.

The Lord did not need advice from anyone when He created the heavens and the earth. He did not consult angels. He did not depend on human understanding. He spoke, and everything obeyed. His command was enough for light to appear, for waters to separate, for dry land to emerge, for plants to grow, for stars to shine, and for living creatures to fill the earth. The voice of God is powerful, and creation itself is proof that His word never returns empty.

The book of Genesis presents creation in an ordered and majestic way. God created with intention. He separated, formed, filled, blessed, and gave purpose. Every part of creation had its place. The sun was placed to govern the day, the moon to govern the night, the earth to produce vegetation, the waters to bring forth living creatures, and man to bear the image of God. This order teaches us that the Lord is not a God of confusion, but a God of wisdom and design.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

This verse reminds us that God has made everything beautiful in its time. There are things we admire immediately, and there are other things we do not understand until later. But whether we understand them or not, God’s works are always filled with wisdom. Human beings are limited. We see only a small part of reality, but God sees the beginning and the end. He knows why He made each thing, why He permits each season, and why His plans unfold in the way they do.

Creation Invites Us to Worship

Seeing all the wonders God has made should lead our hearts to worship. Creation is not merely something to observe; it is something that should move us to praise the Creator. When we look at the sky, we should remember His greatness. When we enjoy food, we should remember His provision. When we feel the warmth of the sun, we should remember His mercy. When we hear the sound of rain, we should remember that the earth depends on His goodness.

How can we remain silent before such majesty? How can we ignore the God who gives life, breath, and strength? The Lord has surrounded us with daily reminders of His power. Even the smallest details of creation testify that He is worthy of honor. A flower does not need to speak in order to proclaim beauty. A river does not need words in order to show movement and life. The heavens do not need a human voice in order to declare the glory of God.

For this reason, the believer should cultivate a heart of gratitude. Many people wake up complaining, thinking only about what they lack, what hurts, or what worries them. But the child of God must learn to see life differently. Every new day is a gift. Every breath is mercy. Every meal is provision. Every moment of peace is grace. We do not deserve the goodness of God, yet He continues to show it to us in countless ways.

When we understand that creation belongs to God, our worship becomes deeper. We stop seeing the world as something common and begin to see it as a testimony of divine glory. The trees, the seas, the animals, the stars, and even our own bodies remind us that we are not self-sufficient. We depend completely on the Lord. Without Him, we would have no life, no strength, no hope, and no future.

This is why the Christian must never give glory to chance, luck, or human pride. The glory belongs to God alone. He is the One who made all things, sustains all things, and governs all things. The greatness of creation points us directly to the greatness of God, because no created thing can explain itself apart from the Creator who gave it existence.

The Folly of Denying the Creator

Many people today deny the existence of God. Some say that the universe came from nothing, that life appeared without divine purpose, and that order came from chaos. But such thinking cannot satisfy the deepest questions of the human heart. If everything came from nothing, where did life come from? If there is no Creator, where did moral order come from? If there is no divine wisdom, why does the universe display such structure, beauty, and precision?

Nothingness cannot create. Emptiness cannot produce life. Chaos cannot design with wisdom. A painting requires a painter. A building requires a builder. A poem requires a poet. In the same way, creation points to a Creator. The heavens and the earth did not appear without cause. They exist because God, who is eternal, powerful, and self-existent, spoke them into being. God is real, and creation continually bears witness to His reality.

The problem is not that creation lacks evidence. The problem is that the human heart often resists the truth. Man wants independence. Man wants to live without accountability. Man wants to enjoy creation while denying the Creator. But this is spiritual blindness. To receive the gifts of God while refusing to honor Him is an act of ingratitude. Every good thing we enjoy comes from His hand, and every blessing should lead us back to Him.

The believer, however, does not look at creation with cold indifference. Through faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. We believe that what is seen was not made from visible things, but by the command of the invisible God. This truth strengthens our hearts and reminds us that the power of faith allows us to see creation as a testimony of divine authority and not as the product of meaningless chance.

God Made Everything Beautiful in Its Time

Ecclesiastes 3:11 teaches us that God has made everything beautiful in its time. This means that beauty is not only found in what is pleasant to our eyes, but also in the way God orders seasons, moments, and purposes. There is beauty in sunrise, but there is also beauty in waiting. There is beauty in harvest, but there is also beauty in planting. There is beauty in joy, but even in tears God can be working something eternal.

We often want to understand everything immediately. We want answers without delay, blessings without process, and clarity without waiting. But the works of God are deeper than our understanding. Man cannot fully discover what God does from beginning to end. We can see fragments, but God sees the whole picture. We see the moment, but God sees eternity. We see what hurts today, but God sees what He is forming through it.

This should humble us. We are creatures, not the Creator. We are dependent, not sovereign. We are limited, not infinite. Therefore, instead of questioning God with pride, we should bow before Him with reverence. His wisdom is higher than ours. His timing is better than ours. His works are greater than our thoughts. God never makes mistakes, and even when we do not understand His ways, we can trust His heart.

The beauty of God’s work is not always visible at first sight. Sometimes the seed is buried before it grows. Sometimes the night is dark before the morning comes. Sometimes the process feels slow before the fruit appears. But in all things, God remains faithful. The same Lord who created the heavens and the earth is also working in the lives of His children. He shapes, corrects, strengthens, and guides according to His perfect will.

This is why the message of Ecclesiastes is so comforting. It reminds us that life is not random. There is a time for everything under heaven, and the Lord governs every season. We may not understand everything now, but we can rest in the truth that He has made everything beautiful in its time, and His purpose will never fail.

Rejoicing in the Gift of Life

I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

Ecclesiastes 3:12

This verse teaches us that life should be received with joy and responsibility. God does not call us to live in constant bitterness, complaint, or despair. He calls us to rejoice in His gifts and to do good while we live. This does not mean that life will be free from suffering. The Bible never promises a painless earthly journey. But even in the middle of trials, the believer has reasons to rejoice because God is present, faithful, and good.

Why should we live without gratitude if the Lord has allowed us to breathe today? Why should we ignore His goodness if He continues to sustain us? We can laugh, speak, walk, work, eat, rest, and enjoy the blessings He provides. Even the ordinary moments of life are gifts from God. The problem is that we often become so accustomed to His mercy that we forget to give thanks.

Gratitude changes the way we live. A grateful heart does not see everything as a burden. It learns to recognize blessings even in simple things. A plate of food becomes a reason to praise. A peaceful night becomes a reason to thank God. A conversation with a loved one becomes a reminder of grace. A moment of silence becomes an opportunity to meditate on the goodness of the Lord.

The world teaches people to desire more and more without ever being satisfied. But Scripture teaches us to rejoice in what God gives and to do good with the life we have received. We were not created merely to consume, complain, and chase earthly pleasures. We were created to glorify God, love our neighbor, work honestly, care for creation, and live in obedience before the Lord.

Enjoying God’s Gifts Without Forgetting the Giver

And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:13

This verse shows us that enjoying the fruit of our labor is not sinful when it is received with gratitude and humility. God allows man to eat, drink, work, rest, and enjoy what He provides. These things are not independent from Him; they are gifts from His hand. The believer can enjoy daily blessings without idolizing them, because he understands that the gift must never replace the Giver.

There is a right way and a wrong way to enjoy creation. The wrong way is to enjoy the world while forgetting God. The wrong way is to turn blessings into idols, to love creation more than the Creator, and to live only for earthly pleasure. But the right way is to receive everything with thanksgiving, remembering that God is the source of every good thing. Food, family, work, rest, nature, and life itself must lead us to worship.

God also calls us to be responsible stewards of what He made. Creation is not ours to abuse. It belongs to the Lord. We must care for what He has entrusted to us, not because creation is divine, but because it belongs to the divine Creator. The earth, the animals, the resources, and the life around us must be treated with wisdom, gratitude, and responsibility. A grateful heart also becomes a careful heart.

When we work, we should remember that strength comes from God. When we eat, we should remember that provision comes from God. When we rest, we should remember that peace comes from God. When we enjoy creation, we should remember that beauty comes from God. Every blessing should become an altar of gratitude, not an excuse for pride.

Creation Points Us to Christ

Creation shows us the power and wisdom of God, but the greatest revelation of God’s love is found in Jesus Christ. The same God who made the heavens and the earth also sent His Son to save sinners. This is a truth that should fill us with awe. The Creator entered His creation. The eternal Son took on human flesh. The One through whom all things were made came to redeem a fallen people.

This means that creation is not the end of our worship; it is the beginning. The beauty of the world should lead us to the beauty of Christ. The order of creation should lead us to the wisdom of Christ. The provision of nature should lead us to the grace of Christ. The life we receive each day should remind us of the eternal life that God gives through His Son.

If God cares for the birds of the sky and clothes the flowers of the field, how much more will He care for His children? If He sustains the universe by His power, can He not sustain our lives? If He created everything by His word, can He not fulfill every promise He has spoken? Creation teaches us to trust, but Christ teaches us the depth of God’s mercy toward sinners.

Therefore, let us not look at creation with empty eyes. Let us see it with faith. Let us praise the Lord for the heavens, the earth, the seas, the rivers, the mountains, the animals, the food, the air, and every blessing that surrounds us. But above all, let us praise Him for salvation in Christ Jesus. The greatest gift is not merely that we live on earth, but that through Christ we can have eternal life with God.

Conclusion: Give Thanks to the Creator

God’s creation is perfect because it came from His perfect will. Even though sin has affected the world, creation still declares the glory, wisdom, and power of the Lord. Every day gives us reasons to worship. Every breath reminds us of mercy. Every blessing invites us to gratitude. Every sunrise announces that God continues sustaining what He has made.

Let us not live as people who ignore the Creator while enjoying His gifts. Let us rejoice, do good, work with honesty, care for what God has made, and give thanks in every season. The Lord has made everything beautiful in its time, and although we cannot fully understand all His works from beginning to end, we can trust Him completely.

So today, when you look at the sky, hear the birds, feel the wind, enjoy your food, or breathe the air that surrounds you, remember this truth: everything is a gift from God. Praise Him, honor Him, trust Him, and worship Him with all your heart, because He is the Creator, Sustainer, and King of all things. Amen.

Walk in Him
God will not abandon you

  1. He has made everything beautiful in its time
    ======================
The Lord God is fair in his majestic and powerful being; and Jesus, the saviour of all people who believe, is fair too. “He has made everything beautiful in its time”, in his Creation. And also in the justice he has infused in every man and woman he has transformed by faith through his Holy Word.

The preacher in Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us:
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
    (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

That just and good God puts in us a feeling of confidence in his work, and a sense of welfare in our mind and spirit.
He made the world, every part of his creation on the earth, animals and plants, seas and heavens, fishes and birds, which are wonders of wonders. And man and woman, perfect in their anatomy and variety of functions.

All things created show the glory of God, his power and goodness, justice and holiness. The Lord God has set the world before the eyes of people, so that their heart also is affected; and therefore they can admire and glorify the Creator with their minds and senses, whenever they gaze at all things created.

We can read some parts of Scripture:
“O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who have set your glory above the heavens.” (Psalm 8:1)

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1)

Or we can think about the creation of mankind:
“For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet”
    (Psalm 8:5-6)

When we see the marvellous things the Lord God has created, we are astonished, and our love to him can be increased—and that is because all things show us how wonderful he is. He deserves our praise, and our giving glory to his name.
