Trust in the God of our salvation, because when our confidence is placed in Him, fear loses its strength and our hearts find rest in His faithful care. This is why every believer must learn the value of trusting God in hard times.
Trusting in God is not merely a spoken confession, nor is it a phrase we repeat only when everything is going well. True trust in the Lord is a daily attitude of the heart. It means placing our lives, our decisions, our fears, our family, our future, and even our unanswered questions in His hands, knowing that He never abandons those who seek Him sincerely. When our trust is in God, anxiety begins to lose its power, because we understand that everything is under His sovereign control.
The believer does not live without battles, but he does live with a hope that the world cannot give. Problems may come, doors may close, people may disappoint us, and circumstances may change without warning, but the Lord remains faithful. He is not moved by the storms that frighten us. He is not confused by the situations that surprise us. He is the eternal God, the one who sees the end from the beginning and sustains His people with mercy.
God Is the Refuge of Those Who Trust in Him
The Lord is the God who comes to our aid when we find ourselves in difficulty. He helps us when our strength is weak, He sustains us when we feel we cannot continue, and He guides us when we do not know which path to take. This is why the psalmist David often declared that God was his trust and his hope. David knew that his life could not rest on human promises, because man can fail, but God is perfect and faithful in everything He says and promises.
David learned through experience that human strength is limited. He knew that allies could fail, enemies could rise, and circumstances could change in a moment. Yet God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. That is why David did not rely on his own abilities, his position, his victories, or his reputation. He relied on the faithfulness of the Lord, who never breaks His word.
This is one of the great lessons every Christian must learn: our confidence cannot be rooted in what we possess, in what we know, or in what we can control. Everything earthly is fragile. Wealth can disappear, health can weaken, friendships can change, and plans can be interrupted. But the one who trusts in the Lord has a foundation that cannot be moved, because his hope is not placed in temporary things, but in the living God.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
Psalm 68:19
This verse reminds us that God’s care is not occasional, but constant. The Lord does not bless His people only from time to time. He does not remember us only in moments of crisis. The Scripture says that He daily loadeth us with benefits. Every day there are evidences of His mercy, even when we are not fully aware of them. Our breath, our strength, our protection, our daily bread, the forgiveness we receive, and even the lessons learned through trials are part of His faithful provision.
Many times we focus so much on what we lack that we forget to give thanks for what God has already given. We complain about the closed door, but we forget the dangers from which the Lord protected us. We worry about tomorrow, but we forget that He sustained us yesterday. We become anxious about what we cannot see, but we forget that the invisible hand of God has carried us through many storms before.
The Lord Loads His People With Benefits Every Day
The benefits of God are not always material things. Sometimes His benefit is peace in the middle of uncertainty. Sometimes it is strength to continue when we feel tired. Sometimes it is correction that brings us back to the right path. Sometimes it is a delay that protects us from something we could not see. Sometimes it is a closed door that preserves us from harm. The Lord’s benefits are wise, holy, and always given according to His perfect will.
For this reason, the believer must learn to look at life with spiritual eyes. If we judge God’s goodness only by comfort, we will misunderstand many seasons of life. But if we understand that God is forming us, guiding us, correcting us, and preparing us, then even difficult moments can become testimonies of His grace. The God of our salvation knows how to bless us even through trials.
Why should we not praise the Lord, if He is always ready to help us and save us when we walk through valleys of shadow? Even when we find ourselves surrounded by confusion, pain, or uncertainty, He sustains us and opens our eyes so that we do not fall. He gives wisdom to the simple, strength to the weak, comfort to the brokenhearted, and hope to those who feel overwhelmed.
There are moments when life places us in dark valleys, where fear seems to speak louder than faith. Yet even there, God remains present. He does not promise that we will never face difficulties, but He assures us that we will never face them alone. His light guides us, His hand sustains us, and His voice gives us peace. This is why believers can say with confidence that the Lord will take care of me, even when the road is difficult.
David’s Confidence Was Built on God’s Faithfulness
David says in Psalm 23 some of the most encouraging words in all Scripture: the Lord is his shepherd, and because of that, he will lack nothing. These words were not empty poetry. David spoke from experience. He had seen the hand of God in the fields while caring for sheep. He had seen the Lord deliver him from wild beasts. He had seen God give him victory when the giant Goliath stood before Israel and filled the army with fear.
David’s confidence was rooted in remembrance. He remembered what God had done before, and that strengthened his faith for what was yet to come. When he stood before Goliath, it was not his size, his armor, or his human skill that gave him courage. His confidence was in the name of the Lord. He knew that the same God who had delivered him in private would sustain him in public.
This teaches us an important truth: yesterday’s testimonies can strengthen today’s faith. When we remember how God has helped us, we are encouraged to trust Him again. The enemy wants us to forget God’s faithfulness, because a forgetful heart becomes an anxious heart. But when we remember the works of the Lord, our souls are renewed with confidence.
David was not perfect. He failed, sinned, wept, repented, and faced painful consequences. Yet in all of this, he learned that God was merciful. The Lord did not abandon him. God corrected him, restored him, and continued to show him grace. This is also part of trusting God: knowing that our hope is not in our perfection, but in His mercy. The believer stands because God is faithful.
The story of David and Goliath continues to remind us that the battle belongs to the Lord. The size of the enemy does not determine the outcome when God is present. The weakness of the instrument does not limit the power of the Almighty. When God decides to give victory, no giant can stand against His purpose. This is why we must not measure our situation only by what our eyes can see.
God Is Our Salvation and Our Deliverer
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
Psalm 68:20
This verse reveals a glorious truth: salvation belongs to God alone. He is the one who delivers from death, fear, sin, despair, and every enemy that rises against His people. No matter how hopeless a situation may seem, God has the final word. What appears impossible to us is never impossible for Him. The Lord is not only able to help; He is mighty to save.
When Scripture speaks of God as the God of salvation, it points us to something greater than temporary relief. Yes, God can deliver us from earthly danger, provide in times of need, and open doors no man can shut. But above all, He is the God who saves sinners through His Son, Jesus Christ. Our greatest problem is not lack of money, lack of strength, or lack of opportunity. Our greatest problem is sin, and only God can rescue us from it.
This is why the message of salvation is so precious. We were lost, but God sought us. We were dead in sins, but God gave us life. We were separated from Him, but through Christ we are brought near. We could not save ourselves by works, religion, or human effort. Salvation is a gift of grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ. This truth should fill our hearts with worship and humility.
The believer who understands salvation cannot live without gratitude. How can we remain silent when God has rescued us from eternal condemnation? How can we refuse to praise the One who forgave our sins and gave us hope? If the Lord has saved us, then our lives must become a testimony of His mercy. Our words, our decisions, our conduct, and our worship should reflect the greatness of the God who saved us.
This is why we must continually remember salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel is not only the message we believed at the beginning of our Christian walk; it is the truth that sustains us every day. When guilt accuses us, the gospel reminds us that Christ has paid. When fear troubles us, the gospel reminds us that God is for us in Christ. When discouragement weakens us, the gospel reminds us that our hope is eternal.
Under His Wings We Are Safe
If we are under His wings, we are more than safe. This does not mean that nothing painful will ever happen to us. It means that nothing can separate us from His love, nothing can defeat His purpose, and nothing can remove us from His hands. The security of the believer is not based on the absence of danger, but on the presence of God.
When we go from one place to another, when we face uncertainty, when we receive difficult news, or when we must make important decisions, we do not need to be controlled by fear. God is with us. He has promised never to forsake His people. This promise does not make us careless, but it does make us confident. We walk wisely, but we walk with peace, because our lives are in His hands.
There are people who live trapped by fear because they believe everything depends on them. They think they must control every detail, solve every problem, and carry every burden alone. But the child of God is invited to rest in the Lord. We work, pray, obey, and make decisions, but we do not carry life as though God were absent. Our Father is present, active, and faithful.
This confidence does not come from positive thinking. It comes from knowing who God is. He is our refuge, our strength, our shield, our shepherd, our salvation, and our strong tower. He is the One who keeps us in the day of trouble and teaches us to trust Him more deeply. The heart that knows God can rest even when life is uncertain.
Trusting God When Fear Appears
Fear is one of the common battles of the human heart. We fear the future, sickness, loss, rejection, failure, and many things we cannot control. But Scripture does not call us to deny fear as though it were not real. Instead, it teaches us where to take our fear. The believer brings fear before the Lord and learns to say, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”
Trusting God does not mean pretending that the valley is not dark. It means knowing that the Shepherd is with us in the valley. Trusting God does not mean ignoring pain. It means believing that God’s grace is sufficient in the middle of pain. Trusting God does not mean we understand everything. It means we trust the One who understands all things perfectly.
When fear rises, we must answer it with truth. God is faithful. God is near. God is sovereign. God is merciful. God hears prayer. God keeps His promises. God saves His people. These truths are not small comforts; they are strong anchors for the soul. The more we meditate on them, the more our hearts are strengthened.
For this reason, every believer should return again and again to the Word of God. The Word corrects our thoughts, strengthens our faith, and reminds us of what is eternal. If we listen only to our emotions, fear will grow. If we listen only to circumstances, discouragement will increase. But when we listen to the voice of God in Scripture, our souls are renewed.
The Christian life is a journey of dependence. Every day we must confess that we need the Lord. We need His wisdom, His forgiveness, His patience, His direction, and His strength. The person who believes he can stand alone is already in danger. But the one who humbles himself before God will find grace, because the Lord sustains those who depend on Him.
Give Glory to the God of Our Salvation
That is why we must give glory and honor to the Almighty for His wonders. He is the God of our salvation, our refuge, and our strong fortress. Let us not doubt that He is our salvation. Let us not allow temporary problems to make us forget eternal promises. Let us not allow fear to silence our praise. The Lord has done great things, and He deserves our worship.
Praise is not only for days of abundance. Praise is also for days of waiting, days of tears, and days when we do not yet understand what God is doing. When we praise the Lord in difficulty, we are declaring that He is worthy because of who He is, not only because of what He gives. This kind of praise honors God and strengthens the heart of the believer.
If David praised God in the wilderness, if he trusted God before giants, if he cried out to God in moments of anguish, then we also must learn to seek the Lord in every season. The same God who sustained David is able to sustain us. The same God who gave victory in impossible moments continues to rule with power and mercy.
Let us therefore live each day with confidence, resting in the assurance that our salvation, our protection, and our future are in the hands of a faithful God who never fails. Let us trust Him when the road is clear and when it is uncertain. Let us trust Him when we understand and when we do not. Let us trust Him in joy and in sorrow, in abundance and in need.
The Lord is worthy of our confidence. He daily loads us with benefits, He saves, He delivers, He protects, and He leads His people with perfect love. Therefore, do not place your ultimate hope in man, possessions, plans, or circumstances. Place your hope in the living God. He is the God of our salvation, and those who trust in Him will never be put to shame. And when fear tries to rise again, remember this powerful truth: I trust in God, I will not fear.

Our God has to save us
===================
In this life we sometimes hear about people who are needy, without a job to earn their living. They have a family that goes through a desperate situation, caused by the fact that the husband or father lost his job a long time ago.
That father or husband is very aware they need money to eat, to pay for the rent of their apartament, or for their washing machine instalment payment… But in this bad situation, which certainly can make people desperate, the man says to his wife: “God has to save us. He will not permit us to be abandoned in the street.”
We know that nobody can force God to act, but he is the only one who can help desperate people.
So that family prays to the Lord, and the man tries to get a new job. At first they ask for a loan from a family member or a friend…
Days pass and things change for them. It is not easy to get a new job, but that man gets a job and can have their problems solved.
Then we think: God has saved them. And it is true, because the Almighty God is merciful: he does not forsake his children.
We can go through things like those people, but we don’t feel helpless nor lost because the Lord God knows perfectly our personal state, and he always wants to help us. He takes care of us. The psalmist said:
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”
Psalm 68:19
We ought to address our needs to the Lord and set our sights in heaven, where our help comes from. Although we go through a valley of shadow of death, the Lord will be with us (Psalm 23:4).
May the Lord God be blessed
