Every morning when we open our eyes to the light of day, when we put our feet on the ground, each new dawn that God gives us, we must understand that it is not something we deserve, but because of His infinite mercy allows us to live another day and that it is a special reason to give glory to God regardless of the difficult time we are going through. And is that glorifying God is not something we can negotiate in our state of mind, our spirit should always be to worship God.
Many times we wake up focused on our problems, on the burdens we carry, on the situations that worry us or afflict us. However, the simple fact of opening our eyes is already a testimony that God has not finished with us. Life itself is a gift that flows from His mercy, and when we understand this truth, our perspective changes. We stop seeing the day as a routine and begin to see it as an opportunity granted by God to glorify Him, to trust Him, and to walk under His guidance.
The people of God have always gone through moments of great bitterness, however, in all those moments God has never forgotten them, and in the same way, something that should serve as a great motivation is that God does not forget us in our difficult times and if today we get up from our beds once again, it is a great demonstration of God’s mercy.
Throughout Scripture we see men and women who suffered loss, persecution, hunger, exile, and pain, yet they discovered that God was faithful even in the darkest hours. God’s presence was not absent in their suffering; on the contrary, His mercy sustained them. This same God remains faithful today, and His mercy continues to reach us in every stage of our lives.
The book of lamentations says:
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.Lamentations 3:22-23
The author of the book of Lamentations knew very well that if they were alive it was because of the mercies of God and not because of their own strength. Do we understand that today? In us there is no strength to stand, but God sustains us each morning through His infinite love and great mercies.
This passage reminds us that we are not preserved by our abilities, our wisdom, or our righteousness. We are preserved by grace. God’s compassion does not fail, even when we do. His faithfulness does not depend on our circumstances or emotions; it remains firm and unchanging. Every morning we receive a fresh portion of mercy, perfectly suited to the challenges we will face that day.
The mercies of God are new every morning, they are not exhausted, they are eternal, they have no end, and those mercies are available to us and that is why we have to give glory and honor to our great Creator God.
When we acknowledge this truth, gratitude begins to fill our hearts. Worship becomes a natural response, not a forced obligation. Even in pain, even in uncertainty, we can lift our eyes to heaven and declare that God is faithful. Each new dawn is an invitation to trust Him again, to rest in His promises, and to walk confidently knowing that His mercy will sustain us today, just as it did yesterday.

His mercies are new every morning
======================
Really the people of God must be grateful to the Father in heaven: because he loves us and he wants us to be a holy people for his glory, and since this was the motive he had for creating and adopting us, by the work of his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has justified us before Him.
But we are rebels still and displease him many times with our lack of love to others, to our brothers, so…
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
He knows very well we are dust of the earth. He is patient with men and women of this world in spite of their evil actions. The Lord God is faithful and great in compassion and love.
Who is like you, oh Lord?
You are the one who sustains us and gives us our daily nourishment; you give us the air we breathe—certainly, because you are faithful to your promises we live. Thanks to you for your mercy, for Jesus, our redeemer…
It is by Him that we wish to leave behind this place where we are, and to be in his presence, where we will live in a holy and pure way of living, with a fully changed mind: far away from this corruption that surrounds us.
Let your name be glorified forever by all your people, by all your Creation, oh Lord God of our lives. Amen.
