Be patient with your brother

The Bible strongly urges us to be humble, patient with our brothers in the faith, to have love and meekness. These things sometimes escape from our hands and we don’t even think about it, but this is really of great importance, because being patient with each other we can show the world that God’s love dwells in us.

The apostle Paul wrote about this to the church of Ephesus:

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Ephesians 4:1-4

The Bible tells us in John’s books that we cannot say that we love God if we do not love our brothers, on the other hand, the main commandment is also to love your neighbor as yourself. This of coping with and loving our neighbor with patience is something very serious in the Scriptures, the apostle Paul tells them:

“Beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called”.

Ep 4:1b

This vocation, this call to be disciples of Christ, is simply an overly large call that includes many responsibilities. We cannot say that we are followers of Christ and hate our neighbor and not make the effort to cope.

We have been called to show that in us as the body of Christ there is peace, joy, meekness, love, that we are united, that we share in pain and joy, simply that we are a people like none, because we are children of God.
