Land inherited for the one who waits in the Lord

It is good to wait on the Lord, because when we wait on Him, we receive what He has promised us. God fulfills what He promises above all that is placed before us.

Waiting on God is not simply remaining still; it is trusting fully in His perfect timing and in His unchanging character. Many times the human heart becomes desperate when answers do not come quickly, and we feel tempted to take shortcuts or force situations. However, Scripture reminds us repeatedly that those who wait on the Lord will never be ashamed. God always works in favor of those who place their hope in Him, even when His plans unfold more slowly than we expect.

When God took the people of Israel out of Egypt He told them that He would take them to a land that flowed with milk and honey, and just as He said it, He did it and delivered what was promised, because God does not lie, He is faithful in everything He says. Though the journey was long and difficult, the promise was fulfilled exactly as God declared. This reminds us that our present circumstances never cancel God’s promises.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Psalm 37:7

Sometimes many people gain everything they have through corrupt ways. Some steal, others even kill in order to obtain benefits, and many engage in dishonest business practices that bring large amounts of money. This kind of prosperity, although impressive in the eyes of men, is temporary and deceptive in the eyes of God.

For this reason we must be silent before the Lord, waiting on Him all the time, not being envious of those who kill and steal to get rich. Their path may appear prosperous for a moment, but the end of their journey is destruction. Our task is to keep our eyes on the Lord and not allow envy to poison our hearts. God calls us to trust in His justice and to rest in the assurance that He sees all things and acts at the right time.

Let us not envy, let us not look at those who prosper doing evil with others, because it is not pleasant before God. Instead, let us wait on the Lord as His word says, knowing that He will honor those who walk in righteousness and integrity.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Psalm 37:8

We should not have anger, because anger can make us sin before God. Let us cast away everything that can cause us to stumble—bitterness, impatience, resentment—and instead think about what God has promised us. When our hearts are focused on His faithfulness, the temptation to react with anger or envy fades, replaced by peace and trust.

For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.

Psalm 37:9

Do not lose heart, because if God promised, He will fulfill. Not in our time, but in the time He determined for each of us. His timing is perfect, His promises are true, and His plans never fail. We believe in His promises that are never late, because He knows all things. Therefore, let us wait with confidence, knowing that the inheritance of the righteous is secure in the hands of the Lord.

Lord, have mercy on me and answer me
God will deliver you

    In this life we go through problems or troubles with family and other people. Some of them adopt an unmotivated attitude that shows hate or antipathy against us.
    This makes me bear some unpleasant people for the love to God and forces me to resist in spite of feeling sad, disturbed and lacking in peace.
    The Bible invites us to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
    It would be profitable to our soul not to fret because of those who prosper in their ways and do evil things, because they shall be cut off.
    Wait on the Lord and he will make us prosper in this Land according to our needs.

    “For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalms 37:9

    The Lord Jesus Christ tells us to be meek people so that we may receive material blessings.
    “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
    Matthew 5:5

    May we wait for the Lord in all our difficulties we have in this life.
