The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective

Without a doubt, faith must be an essential ingredient in the life of every believer. We can not say that we are Christians and do not believe in the wonders of God. The Bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God and that everyone who comes to Him must to do so knowing that God is listening to him. Every day we must refine our faith.

Truly the effective prayer of the righteous can do too much. When we pray with faith and we are asking under the divine will of God then He answers us and we must understand this, we have to approach with confidence before the throne of grace. Remember that it is no longer as before, we do not have to wait for a high priest to offer sacrifices for us, Christ already entered once and for all and this has made us closer to God without having to have a kind of intercession of another person, for which, we must approach in full confidence before our Creator.

The Biblie says:

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
James 5:16-18

Verse 16 helps us a lot to understand that we can not live a Christian life if we have problems with our brothers, we can not be asking God if we have any bitterness against a brother, the correct thing is that we solve that problem with our brother, that we pray the for each other and in this way the effective prayer of the righteous can do much.

We must never stop believing in God. Remember Elijah, that man of God that the Bible tells us that he prayed and the fire fell, that he prayed and the rain stopped, that man of God also had to run from Jezebel at a certain moment and he was a man just like you and Ime, with passions similar to ours, however, God listened to Elijah.

There should be no doubt that just as God listened to Elijah he also listens to us. Let’s never stop believing in our most Holy Savior. Remember: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.

Faith, therefore, is not something optional or secondary in the Christian walk; it is the very foundation that sustains our relationship with God. A believer who does not cultivate faith is like a tree without roots, easily shaken by the winds of difficulty. When trials come, it is faith that helps us remain firm, trusting that God has control of all things, even when we do not understand His purposes. Faith is strengthened when we meditate on the Word, when we remember the works that God has already done in our lives, and when we choose to depend on Him instead of our own strength.

Prayer is one of the greatest expressions of that faith. To kneel before God is to recognize our limitations and His greatness. Every time we pray, we declare that God is powerful, that He listens, and that He responds according to His perfect will. Many times our prayers are not answered in the way we expect, but that does not mean that God is silent. He knows the right moment, the right way, and the right purpose behind every answer. That is why we must pray persistently, with a heart full of trust.

Elijah’s example not only teaches us about the power of prayer but also about human weakness. Although he was a man greatly used by God, he also experienced fear, fatigue, and moments of deep discouragement. This reminds us that God does not require perfection to listen to us. He requires sincerity, humility, and a heart that seeks Him. The same God who strengthened Elijah in the desert is the God who strengthens us when we feel overwhelmed.

Let this passage be a reminder that our prayers are not in vain. When we confess our sins, forgive, reconcile, and approach God with a clean heart, our prayers take on a special power before Him. Faith and prayer go hand in hand, and when they unite, mountains move, situations change, and hearts are renewed. Never underestimate what God can do when a believer decides to trust Him fully.

Blessed are all who trust in Him
We shall be like Him

  1. THE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS PERSON IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE

“Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” James 5:18
The Bible says that Elijah was a man like ourselves with our weakness and passions, but he had a special gift of God: Faith.
The power of God was manifested through him, he pleased Him, prayed without a doubt to the sovereign Lord and his prayers were listened to.
The Lord heard Elijah’s requests to begin and finish a drought over Israel to reprimand king Ahab and his wife Jezebel.

All the ground in Israel suffered a big drought in time of this bad king and his perverse wife: people and cattle were dying for lack of food and grass mixtures.
Elijah begged the Lord for rain, he had to be patient and wait for Him. Days were passing and there was no sign of water, but he was praying eagerly during three years and six months until the day Lord made it rain over the earth.
This day Elijah, gazing to the sky, saw a little cloud to come, that became a big dark cloud with a strong wind, then rain fell plentifully over the earth.

Elijah was a man of faith who was justified by God; he was a right man. He prayed to the Lord all his life and could help a lot of people, both men and women on several ooccasion. For instance, in Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, he assisted a widow and her son, who could rise and live after being dead. That is what happened.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful, the Lord litens to it.
The apostle Paul teaches us we must pray always eagerly with patience, waiting for the time of God and that his Will be accomplished in all problems of our life.

The Lord is our helper, our sure support in trouble…
    Yes, He is so…
