God never forgets His children, because His compassion is constant, His mercy sustains us, and His care reaches every area of our lives. Even when we feel weak or forgotten, we can remember that God crowns you with favors and mercy, and His love never fails.
The mercy of God is one of the greatest comforts for the believer. We are not sustained by our own strength, our own wisdom, or our own ability to overcome every difficulty. We are sustained by the Lord, who knows our weaknesses, sees our needs, and remains faithful even when our hearts feel tired. Nothing is impossible for Him, and His mercy every day helps us, restores us, strengthens us, and keeps us walking forward.
There are times when life makes us feel forgotten. Trials may come one after another, burdens may feel too heavy, and the heart may wonder if God truly sees what is happening. But Scripture teaches us that God never forgets His children. He is not distant from their pain. He is not careless with their tears. He is not indifferent to their needs. The Lord knows every weakness, every fear, every thought, and every burden carried by His people.
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;Psalm 103:13
The Lord has compassion like a father
Psalm 103 gives us one of the most tender images of God’s care: “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” This verse helps us understand that the compassion of God is not cold or distant. It is personal, tender, and fatherly. The Lord does not look at His children as strangers. He cares for them with deep love.
A good father is moved by the needs of his children. He watches over them, corrects them, protects them, provides for them, and feels compassion when they suffer. In a much greater and perfect way, God has compassion on those who fear Him. Earthly fathers may fail because they are human, but the heavenly Father never fails. His compassion is pure, wise, holy, and constant.
This truth should bring great peace to the believer. We do not serve a God who ignores weakness. We serve a God who understands our frame and deals with us according to perfect wisdom. He does not crush the brokenhearted. He does not reject the humble. He does not abandon those who fear His name. The compassion of God is a safe refuge for every weary soul.
All those who fear the Lord are blessed. Every day we must place our confidence in Him, regardless of the difficulties we are experiencing. It is good to remember that God holds each of our needs in His hands. He knows what we lack, what we fear, what we cannot explain, and what we are waiting for. Nothing about us is hidden from Him.
The fear of the Lord brings blessing
The fear of the Lord is not a sinful terror that makes us run away from God. It is reverence, worship, submission, humility, and love before His holy presence. Those who fear the Lord recognize His greatness and their dependence on Him. They do not treat His Word lightly. They do not live as though God were far away. They desire to honor Him in every area of life.
Scripture repeatedly connects the fear of the Lord with blessing. This does not mean that those who fear God will never suffer, never face trials, or never experience seasons of weakness. Rather, it means that they live under the faithful care of the Lord. Their lives are not governed by chance, but by the sovereign hand of God.
The blessings of God are not limited to material things. The Lord blesses with peace, wisdom, protection, correction, strength, forgiveness, spiritual growth, and the joy of knowing Him. A person may possess little in the eyes of the world and still be rich in the mercy of God. Truly, the blessings of the Lord are upon those who fear Him and walk in His ways.
This should encourage parents, children, families, and every believer. God sees the homes that seek Him. He sees the parents who teach their children, pray for them, correct them with love, and desire to raise them in the fear of the Lord. He sees the children who honor Him. He sees the families that depend on His mercy. No sincere act of faithfulness is invisible before God.
Love moves us to do good
One of the practices we must always keep in mind is love. Those who have received the love of Christ are called to practice good works. Before knowing Christ, many people lived for themselves, acted without compassion, and thought only of their own desires. But after knowing the love of Christ, the heart begins to change. The person who has been loved by God learns to love others.
This is especially important in the family. Parents must care for their children with compassion, patience, instruction, and tenderness. Children are not possessions to be controlled harshly, but lives entrusted by God. A father or mother who understands the compassion of the Lord should reflect that compassion in the home. Discipline is necessary, but it must be guided by love, not cruelty. Instruction is necessary, but it must be joined with patience and prayer.
God looks at the works done with sincerity. He sees when parents care for their children, when believers serve others, when mercy is shown to the weak, and when love is practiced in quiet ways that others may never notice. The Christian life is not only words; it is also visible fruit. The love of Christ teaches us to become merciful because we have received mercy.
A person who knows God should not live with a hard and indifferent heart. If the Lord has been patient with us, how can we refuse patience to others? If He has forgiven us, how can we refuse to forgive? If He has lifted us in weakness, how can we ignore those who are falling? The compassion of God must shape the compassion of His people.
for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.Psalm 103:14
God remembers that we are dust
Psalm 103:14 gives another beautiful reason for God’s compassion: “for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.” The Lord knows our condition perfectly. He knows that we are weak, limited, fragile, dependent, and unable to sustain ourselves apart from Him. This does not make Him despise His children. Instead, He deals with them with mercy and patience.
Sometimes we say or feel that God has forgotten us. We may think that He does not know our condition, our needs, or the pressure we are facing. But Scripture says the opposite. He knows how we are formed. He remembers that we are dust. He understands the weakness of our bodies, the battles of our minds, the wounds of our hearts, and the limitations of our strength.
This truth should humble us and comfort us at the same time. It humbles us because we are dust; we are not self-sufficient. We need God for every breath, every step, every act of obedience, and every moment of perseverance. But it comforts us because the Lord does not forget this. He does not treat His children as though they were made of iron. He knows their frailty and sustains them with compassion.
God’s knowledge of our weakness does not reduce His love for us. Rather, His compassion meets us precisely where our strength runs out. When we cannot explain our pain to others, He understands. When we do not have the words to describe our condition, He knows. When the heart is tired, He is still near.
God knows everything about us
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.Psalm 139:2
David understood that God knew everything about him. The Lord knew when he sat and when he rose. He knew his thoughts from afar. This means that God’s knowledge is not partial. He does not merely observe outward actions; He sees the inner life. He knows what we think, what we fear, what we desire, what we hide, and what we cannot even fully understand about ourselves.
This truth can be serious, but it is also deeply comforting for the believer. God knows everything, and yet He invites His people to come near. He knows our weaknesses, and yet He shows mercy. He knows our needs, and yet He provides. He knows our tears, and yet He comforts. Nothing escapes His divine attention.
The psalmist David was clear that God knew not only his life, but also the whole world. God watches over all creation. He sees every person, every circumstance, every hidden pain, and every silent prayer. He looks from heaven, not as a powerless observer, but as the sovereign Lord who rules and cares for His people.
This is why the believer should never think that his prayers vanish into emptiness. The Lord hears. The Lord sees. The Lord understands. In every season, we can remember that the Lord is attentive to your cry, and He knows how to answer according to His wisdom and mercy.
God’s care reaches the hidden places of the heart
When we meditate on these words, we realize that the care of God is not superficial or limited. His care reaches places no human being can fully see. People may notice our outward struggles, but they cannot always understand the secret battles of the heart. God can. He knows the thoughts we are afraid to express, the wounds we carry silently, and the burdens we cannot explain.
There are moments when pressures make us feel alone. But Scripture reminds us repeatedly that the eyes of the Lord are upon His children. This should fill our hearts with hope. If God sees us, then He also sustains us. No trial is too great, no tear is unnoticed, and no burden is ignored. The compassion of God surrounds His people even in the places where human comfort cannot reach.
His mercy does not depend on our emotions or circumstances. There are days when we feel strong, and there are days when we feel weak. There are days when faith feels bright, and there are days when discouragement rises. But God’s character does not change with our feelings. He remains faithful, compassionate, holy, and good.
This is one reason prayer is so necessary. Prayer brings our hidden needs before the Lord, not because He does not already know them, but because He calls us to depend on Him. Prayer teaches us to rest in His care, confess our weakness, and receive strength from the One who knows us completely.
God does not abandon the discouraged heart
There are seasons when discouragement tries to dominate the heart. We may look at our circumstances and feel afraid. We may look at our weakness and feel unable to continue. We may look at our failures and feel ashamed. Yet the compassion of God reminds us that He does not abandon the discouraged heart.
The Lord is gentle with those who fear Him. He restores the soul. He lifts the fallen. He strengthens the weary. He corrects His children, but not with cruelty. He disciplines, but with fatherly love. He leads us through valleys, but He does not leave us there without His presence.
When fear threatens to take control, the Lord calls His people to trust Him. We must remember that He is present, that His power has not diminished, and that His promises remain firm. The believer can say, do not be afraid, not because life is easy, but because God is near.
Trusting God does not mean denying pain. It means believing that God is greater than the pain. It means bringing fear before His throne instead of letting fear rule the heart. It means resting in His compassion when we do not understand the process.
God sustains and restores His people
The mercy of God does more than comfort us emotionally. It sustains us in real life. It helps us continue when we feel tired. It restores us when sin, suffering, or weakness has wounded us. It strengthens us when we cannot find strength in ourselves. The Lord is not only aware of our condition; He is able to act in our favor.
Nothing is impossible for God. He can restore what appears broken, guide what seems confused, heal what has been wounded, and strengthen what has become weak. He can open doors, provide what is needed, correct what is wrong, and give peace in the middle of difficulty. His mighty hand is not limited by our circumstances.
This does not mean that God always answers in the way or time we expect. Sometimes He allows waiting. Sometimes He strengthens us through the trial instead of removing it immediately. Sometimes He teaches patience, humility, and deeper dependence. But even then, His compassion remains active. The Lord’s delay is never abandonment.
The believer must learn to rest in the assurance that God is present, attentive, and willing to act according to His perfect will. He who sustains the universe is the same One who sustains our lives. The One who numbers the stars also knows the needs of His children.
Let us walk with confidence in the Lord
Since God has compassion on those who fear Him, since He remembers that we are dust, and since He knows our thoughts from afar, we should walk each day with confidence in Him. Our lives are not hidden from His sight. Our needs are not unknown. Our prayers are not ignored. Our weakness is not too much for His mercy.
Let us trust Him in every season. When we feel strong, let us thank Him. When we feel weak, let us depend on Him. When we are afraid, let us run to Him. When we fall, let us repent and return to Him. When we do not understand, let us remember that He knows all things and acts with perfect wisdom.
The compassion of the Lord should also move us to show compassion to others. If God has dealt tenderly with us, we must not be cruel to those around us. If He has been patient with us, we must learn patience. If He has restored us, we must desire restoration for others. The children of God should reflect the heart of their Father.
Therefore, let us rest in the mercy of God. He never forgets His children. He knows our frame. He hears our cry. He sees our tears. He strengthens the weary and restores the broken. The Lord who has compassion like a father will continue sustaining His people until the end.

THE LORD HAS COMPASSION ON THOSE WHO FEAR HIM
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; Psalm 103:130
How marvellous is the fear of the Lord! It’s good and a right thing too. If somebody has got power from heaven to love the Lord God, then he fears Him, wishes to please Him, considers how great He is, how much He loves his children (but those he loves he also punishes so that they are corrected).
Those people love and fear their heavenly Father. It means that their names are written in the book of life, so we must be joyful. They are of our family, the family of God.
Our Father who is in Heaven looks over us and he gives us daily bread and other needs, forgives our debts, our sins…
The Lord knows that we are dust and has compassion on us. He heals our body and comforts our Soul, he guides our life for his name’s sake.
May we all glorify Him and be grateful to Him.
He is our Lord God. Rejoice!
Amen.
