When we look to the Lord, our lives become more secure because God is with us, strengthens us, and sustains us in every season. Even when we feel downcast or unable to continue, we can still look to the Lord and His strength, knowing that He never abandons those who seek Him.
There are moments in life when discouragement becomes heavy. We may feel tired, weak, confused, or unable to keep moving forward. Difficulties can arise suddenly, obstacles can appear before us, and the heart can become troubled by fear, uncertainty, or pain. Yet the believer has a refuge that the world cannot offer. We do not depend only on our own strength, because the Lord Himself is the strength of His people.
Psalm 105 reminds us to glory in the holy name of the Lord, to rejoice as those who seek Him, to look to His strength, and to remember His wonders. This is a powerful path for the Christian life. When the heart is weak, we seek God. When the path is difficult, we look to His strength. When doubts arise, we remember what He has already done. The memory of God’s faithfulness becomes fuel for present faith.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.Psalm 105:3
The hearts of those who seek the Lord can rejoice
The psalmist says, “Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.” This is not a superficial joy based on easy circumstances. It is a joy rooted in the character of God. The people who seek the Lord can rejoice because they are seeking the One who is faithful, holy, powerful, merciful, and present with His children.
There are many reasons why the heart may become discouraged. A person may feel burdened by sickness, family problems, financial pressure, spiritual battles, emotional weariness, or uncertainty about the future. But the command of the psalm does not depend on the absence of trouble. It invites those who seek the Lord to rejoice because God remains worthy of trust even when life is difficult.
To glory in His holy name means to boast in who God is. We do not boast in our strength, wisdom, possessions, or ability to solve every problem. We boast in the Lord. His name is holy, His character is perfect, His promises are sure, and His care for His people does not fail. The believer’s joy is not built on changing circumstances, but on the unchanging God.
When we seek the Lord, our hearts begin to recover perspective. Trouble may still exist, but it no longer stands above God. Obstacles may still be present, but they are not greater than His power. Weakness may still be felt, but it is met by divine strength. This is why the hearts of those who seek Him can rejoice even while waiting for deliverance.
God helps us move forward in difficulty
Even if we find ourselves in difficulty, we must move forward because our God is with us. No matter what comes, no matter what obstacles are placed before us, the Lord is able to help us overcome what we cannot remove by ourselves. He does not promise that life will be free from trials, but He does promise to be near to His people.
The Christian life often includes seasons where the path is hard. Sometimes we pray and still must wait. Sometimes we obey and still face opposition. Sometimes we trust God and still pass through tears. But Scripture teaches us that the presence of hardship is not the absence of God. Many of the saints in the Bible walked through deep trials, and yet the Lord sustained them.
The Lord strengthens the weary. He gives courage to the fearful, peace to the troubled, patience to the waiting, and hope to those who feel surrounded by darkness. He does not always remove every obstacle immediately, but He gives grace to continue. Sometimes the miracle is not that the burden disappears, but that God gives strength to carry it faithfully.
This is why we must not allow discouragement to become our master. We may feel weak, but God is strong. We may not understand the process, but God knows the way. We may not see the full answer yet, but God is working. The believer can continue because the Lord sustains his steps.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.Psalm 105:4
Look to the Lord and His strength
Psalm 105:4 gives a clear command: “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” This is more than a poetic phrase. It is a call to daily dependence. Looking to the Lord means turning the heart away from self-sufficiency and placing confidence in God. It means saying, “Lord, I cannot sustain myself; I need Your strength, Your wisdom, Your guidance, and Your mercy.”
When we look to God, things become different within us. Circumstances may not change immediately, but the heart begins to change. Anxiety is confronted by prayer. Fear is confronted by faith. Weariness is met by divine strength. Confusion is corrected by the Word of God. The Lord will help us whenever we ask according to His will, and He does not reject the despondent heart.
Seeking His face always means that we do not seek Him only when everything collapses. We seek Him in joy and in sorrow, in abundance and in need, in clarity and in confusion, in strength and in weakness. The Christian does not treat God as a last option; he learns to seek Him as the first refuge of the soul.
This is why prayer is essential. We must bring our fears, weaknesses, anxieties, and desires before Him with sincerity. The Lord listens to those who seek Him with a humble heart. As believers, we must learn to say with confidence: answer my prayer Lord, not because we command Him, but because we trust His mercy, timing, and fatherly care.
Seeking His face must become a daily habit
The psalmist does not say, “Seek His face occasionally.” He says, “Seek His face always.” This teaches us that communion with God must not be occasional, superficial, or dependent only on emergencies. We need the Lord every day. We need His grace every hour. We need His wisdom in ordinary decisions and His strength in extraordinary trials.
Many people seek God only when they have no other option. But the believer is called to something deeper. We seek Him because He is our life, not merely because He can solve our problems. We seek Him because His presence is better than all earthly comfort. We seek Him because without Him our souls grow weak, distracted, and cold.
Seeking the face of God means desiring fellowship with Him. It means listening to His Word, praying with sincerity, confessing sin, worshiping Him, and surrendering our will before Him. It is not only asking for help; it is drawing near to the Helper. It is not only seeking His hand; it is seeking His presence.
The more we seek the Lord, the more our hearts are trained to trust Him. Faith grows through communion. Courage grows through prayer. Gratitude grows through remembering. Hope grows when the soul learns to look beyond the problem and behold the God who reigns over all things.
Job teaches us to glorify God in suffering
We must always thank God for everything that comes into our lives, even when we do not understand the season we are facing. The story of Job is one of the most powerful examples of faithfulness in suffering. Job was a man greatly blessed, yet one day everything changed. He lost possessions, family, health, and comfort. His suffering was deep, painful, and difficult to understand.
Yet in the midst of his trial, Job did not curse God. He worshiped. He acknowledged that the Lord had given and the Lord had taken away, and he blessed the name of the Lord. This does not mean Job felt no pain. His grief was real. His questions were real. His anguish was real. But beneath all his suffering, there was a reverence for God that kept him from abandoning faith.
Job was attacked by Satan, and his faith was tested in a severe way. Yet after enduring that enormous trial, the Lord restored him and blessed him abundantly. This teaches us that suffering is not always the final chapter. God can allow deep trials and still remain good. He can permit painful seasons and still have purposes that we cannot yet see.
The story of Job reminds us that the believer’s faith must not depend only on blessings. It must rest in God Himself. True faith worships God not only when gifts are received, but also when everything seems to be taken away.
Faith grows when we remember God’s works
Remember the wonders he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,Psalm 105:5
The psalmist calls us to remember the wonders of God. This is not a small command. Forgetfulness weakens faith. When we forget what God has done, present troubles seem larger than they really are. But when we remember His works, our hearts are strengthened. We begin to say, “The God who helped before can help again. The God who delivered before can deliver again. The God who sustained before can sustain again.”
The history of Israel shows us a God who never abandoned His people. He opened the sea, provided manna in the wilderness, gave water from the rock, protected them from enemies, guided them by His presence, and fulfilled His promises. Israel often failed, but God remained faithful. His wonders were not random events; they were testimonies of His covenant care.
Remembering God’s works also helps us interpret our own lives with gratitude. Every answered prayer, every unexpected provision, every moment of protection, every season of strength, every deliverance, and every correction from the Lord is part of His faithful care over us. We must learn to notice these things and give thanks.
This is why believers should cultivate a grateful memory. The article the Mighty One has done great things for me reminds us that remembering God’s works strengthens faith and helps others see His greatness. Testimony is powerful because it turns attention away from human ability and places it on the goodness of God.
God’s wonders strengthen us in present trials
When we meditate on what God has already done, we are better prepared to face what is before us. The believer who remembers God’s faithfulness yesterday can trust Him more firmly today. Past mercy becomes present encouragement. Past deliverance becomes present confidence. Past provision becomes present hope.
This does not mean every trial will end quickly or that every prayer will be answered in the exact way we expect. God is sovereign, and His wisdom is greater than ours. But remembering His wonders assures us that He is never inactive, never careless, and never absent from the lives of His people.
Sometimes we do not see dramatic miracles like the opening of the Red Sea, but God is still working. He guides decisions, protects from unseen dangers, provides strength in weakness, gives peace in sorrow, opens doors, closes harmful paths, convicts us of sin, restores our souls, and sustains us when we feel that we cannot continue.
The hand of God is often present even when the eye cannot immediately recognize it. This is why faith is necessary. We walk by faith, trusting that the Lord is working in ways deeper than our understanding.
A look of faith changes the way we face life
Looking to God is not simply an emotional action; it is an act of faith that shapes our entire way of living. When the psalmist invites us to look to the Lord and His strength, he reminds us that our help does not come from our own abilities, nor from our surroundings, but from the Creator of heaven and earth.
A look of faith means choosing to trust God when the visible circumstances are difficult. It means lifting the heart above fear and saying, “Lord, You are greater than this.” It means refusing to let discouragement define reality. It means remembering that God is present, powerful, wise, and faithful.
Faith grows when we feed it with the Word, meditate on God’s promises, and remember His wonders. This is why a look of faith is necessary for every believer. We need eyes trained by Scripture, not only by circumstances. We need hearts taught by God, not controlled by fear.
When we look at trials only through human weakness, we may become overwhelmed. But when we look through faith, we remember that the Lord is near. We do not deny the difficulty, but we refuse to make the difficulty greater than God. Faith does not pretend the valley is easy; faith believes the Shepherd is present in the valley.
Let us fix our eyes on the Lord in every circumstance
In the history of Israel, in the story of Job, and in our own lives, we see that God never abandons His people. He strengthens, guides, protects, disciplines, restores, provides, and sustains. He may lead us through trials, but He does not leave us without help. He may allow waiting, but He does not forget His promises.
Therefore, let us learn to fix our eyes on the Lord in every circumstance. When joy comes, let us look to Him with gratitude. When trials come, let us look to Him with confidence. When we feel weak, let us look to His strength. When we feel confused, let us seek His face. When we forget, let us remember His wonders. When we fear, let us pray.
God is our strength, our refuge, and our everlasting hope. As we continue seeking His face, we will experience His peace, His joy, and His unfailing love. The path may not always be easy, but the Lord is faithful. He hears the prayers of His children and sustains those who trust in Him.
Let us not give up when obstacles appear. Let us not lose heart when trials become heavy. Let us not forget the wonders God has done. Let us seek the Lord always, glory in His holy name, and rejoice in His presence. The heart that looks to the Lord will find strength, and the soul that remembers His works will continue walking in hope.

Benar, jika kita tetap setia memandang wajah Tuhan, memegang Firman Nya dan mengikuti apa yg diminta Tuhan dari kita, pasti kita akan merasa tenang, seberat apapun, sesakit apapun yg kita hadapi semua itu dapat saya lewati bersama kasih Nya.
Look to the Lord and His strength
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Psalm 105:4
The Lord God of hosts, the king of glory….
He created everything that exists, Paradise, the man and the woman.
He has done a big amount of glorious and wonderful works. He forced Pharaoh to leave Israel out of Egypt. He helped king David to overcome all his enemies. So he assisted his people Israel, judges, kings, prophets, all humble people who have come close to him looking for liberation, help. He is almighty and glorious, he is king of kings, he is above all presidents or governors of this World. Everything he wants, he does… It is fulfilled.
THE SOVEREING GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24:10), therefore, he is the almighty God, Who is like to Him?
Your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who have done great things: O God, who is like to you! (Psalm 71:19)
