Take delight in the Lord

Sometimes we will have moments of affliction, but also moments of joy will come, which we have to take advantage of. Let us be faithful to the Lord and He will have mercy, and His joy will be eternal in each of our lives.

The joy of the Lord will bring to each person’s life peace, love, humility, patience, kindness, and a spirit of mercy. When the Lord comes into our lives everything is different, there is no sadness because our sadness becomes joy.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

God fulfills what He promises, but everything arrives in His time, because nobody gives orders to God, only He in His will and His infinite mercy gives us everything we need, but in due time.

It is good that in difficult moments we rejoice in Almighty God, be faithful, even if we have problems, that if the trials come, we be prepared so that we bow down before God and ask for strengths.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
Psalm 37:5

Only God knows your ways, your thoughts, He guides you every day. God tells you where there is danger, where you can walk, where you can tread, only He can see the intentions of the evil one. Trust in Him and He will do, He has control of all things.

He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Psalm 37:6

God is a God of order, He does justice to His children, He fights for them, He alone is always there to help them, He is in our bad times, and He also helps us overcome the darkness in the name of the great and strong God.

When we meditate on these verses, we understand that delighting in the Lord is much more than a simple emotional expression; it is a lifestyle. It means resting in His promises, trusting that His plans are better than ours, and learning to wait with patience even when we do not clearly see the path ahead. Many times we want immediate answers, but the Lord works in seasons, shaping our character while we wait.

Affliction is not a sign of abandonment; on the contrary, it is often the evidence of God’s refining work in our lives. Through trials He purifies our hearts, removes what harms us, and strengthens what is weak. It is in these seasons that we learn to depend completely on Him, to recognize that our strength comes from His hand and not from our own abilities.

Joy, on the other hand, is not simply the absence of problems. The joy that comes from God is a profound assurance that we are held by His love. It is a joy that flows even in tears, even when life feels heavy, because it is rooted in the certainty that God is faithful. This joy fills our hearts with gratitude and helps us see beyond the difficulties of the present moment.

To commit our way to the Lord is to surrender all areas of our life: our desires, our plans, our fears, and even our disappointments. When we surrender everything to Him, we discover that His purpose is always better. God does not ignore what happens to us; He walks with us, guides us, and protects us, even when we do not perceive it. His care is constant, and His provision arrives exactly when we need it.

Just as the psalmist declares, God makes the righteous shine. This does not mean that we will never face adversity, but that the Lord Himself will defend our cause. When we act with integrity, trust in His justice, and remain firm in faith, God exalts us in His perfect time. Our reward comes from Him, not from human recognition.

Therefore, let us learn to walk each day with confidence, knowing that the Lord is our protector. In affliction, let us seek Him; in joy, let us praise Him; and in every season, let us depend entirely on His love. The God who has sustained us until today will continue to guide us, and His joy will remain as a fountain of strength in our hearts forever.
