Those who wait for the Lord will have new strength

Every athlete gets tired when it comes to exercising their work in the field, and a great example we have is that of those athletes who run on a track, they all run for a medal that will be hung for a few minutes and will be recognized by everybody and this means that when they are running, even though they do not have the strength to continue on the track, when they are exhausted and overwhelmed by fatigue, they renew themselves, get strength from where there is not, because they want the honor of a medal.

The Bible compares our pilgrimage with that of the athletes, because, we are also running a race where we get tired, where we get thirsty, where many times we do not want to keep running, because simply our strength is over and we feel we are suffocating. Should we fall in the middle of the track? Well, if it is with our own strength that we are running, we will certainly fall, but if we run this race supported by the great strength of God, then God will give us strength.

Isaiah said:

28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40: 28-31

In the midst of such a difficult race, God promises us help, but to receive that help we must trust fully in Him, and a part that I like a lot of the verses quoted above is when he says:

“He gives effort to the weary, and multiplies the strength he has none.”

Do you realize what this means? This means that although we do not have any strength, that is, that we are down in the middle of the track without being able to run, then God multiplies the force that we do not even have. God is an expert doing this, He does not need our strength, but our weakness draws strength from where there is none, and this is why God says to Paul: “My grace is sufficient for my power is perfected in weakness.”

Let’s hope in God and He will multiply our strength, He will make us raise wings like eagles and we will run this race without getting tired, we will walk without getting tired. Let’s hope in God!

    In the Lord I will feel contentment; my soul shall make her boast in the Lord, because we shall be present before Him..

    “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.” (Psalm 34:2)

    I’m sure that God’s power acts in each one of us when we have our confidence in Him. At the time we need His help and we seek Him, he is near us and does not leave us alone in the trouble.

    “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
    but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 28-31

    Let’s give thanks to our God.
