There are difficult moments in our lives that make us feel overwhelmed, troubled, or even abandoned. Sometimes the weight of grief, fear, uncertainty, or sickness becomes so heavy that we begin to think God has forgotten us. Yet this is far from the truth. Jesus promised that we would never be alone, and for that reason He left us the Holy Spirit—our Comforter—to strengthen, restore, and sustain us in every trial.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1
The author of this psalm reminds us that God is with us not only in times of peace but especially in moments of despair, anguish, weakness, and adversity. He does not step away when life becomes painful; rather, He draws near to comfort us. His presence is not distant or occasional—He is a “very present help,” meaning that at the exact moment trouble arises, God is already there.
The word *console* means to relieve someone’s pain or remove the weight of their anguish. We console others by offering words that heal, gestures that strengthen, and support that reminds them they are not alone. In the same way—but with infinitely greater power—God consoles us. His comfort penetrates deeper than human encouragement and reaches the places in our hearts where earthly words cannot.
Jesus made a precious promise to His disciples before returning to the Father. He assured them that although He would not remain physically on earth, He would not leave them without help. He would send the Holy Spirit to dwell with them forever:
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth… for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:16–17
In this passage, Jesus reminds us that His promises never fail. He tells us to guard His Word in our hearts and trust that He has supplied divine help through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is not a temporary companion; He abides with us continually. He guides us, strengthens us, convicts us, comforts us, and restores our hope when sorrow tries to overwhelm us.
We must believe—truly believe—that the Holy Spirit is with us at every moment. Whether we are at home, at work, walking through a valley of suffering, or standing on a mountaintop of blessing, He remains by our side. This truth is powerful enough to keep us standing when life’s storms try to knock us down. It reminds us that no matter how unpredictable life becomes, God’s presence does not change.
Everyday life brings many surprises, and not all of them are pleasant. Challenges come unexpectedly, and some circumstances may try to steal our peace. Yet the Word of God restores us. It brings clarity when our minds are confused, light when our hearts feel darkened, and peace when anxiety rises. The Scriptures are living and active, anchoring our souls in truth.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psalm 46:2–3
The psalmist paints a picture of chaos—earthquakes, roaring waters, trembling mountains—yet he declares boldly, “We will not fear.” Why? Because God is with us. If the Creator of the universe is our refuge, then nothing in creation can overthrow His power or His plan for us. The natural world may tremble, nations may shake, problems may rise, but God remains unshaken.
Why then should we fear? Our God is strong, mighty, and sovereign. Nothing is impossible for Him. He can calm the storm, silence the enemy, heal the brokenhearted, and lift up the weary. His strength is not limited by our weakness, nor is His compassion hindered by our failures. Even when we feel fragile, He remains powerful.
Dear friend, trust in the One who never leaves you. When you feel discouraged, remember His promises. When you feel alone, recall that the Comforter is within you. When fear tries to enter your heart, hold on to His Word. God is your refuge and strength, always present, always faithful, always near.

I believe in God always, I pray everyday, but my problem is , I have lot of mistakes and lies to my family, can you people of God pray for me
We know once we are in Christ Jesus we are made New, but yet we are still in our sinful nature, always ask Jesus to forgive for even in our very thoughts and motives we sin daily, but even in that Satan can keep bringing back to our minds our sin and make us feel unforginen, though this is not true, for this to stop happening we need to seek forgiveness from the ones we have wronged, this will bring peace to your mind and heart,
I have done this many times and even though some people say it’s forgotten, you don’t need to, I tell them I do and I apologise and from that moment I feel free,
repent and keep praying god bless u and your family.
Sometimes as Christians we feel very lazy in praying. Why? Because the devil know that prayer is the key that can destroy his wicked powers in the world that is why it makes us feel lazy and sometimes we even forget to pray. May God let the holy sprit feel our heart as Christians so that we do not fall into temptation. Thank you Jesus hearer of prayers please lead us.
Thanks

The protection of God in tribulation
======================
As the psalmist says, God is our refuge and strength. He is always present on our way, wherever we go. It is true that He does not abandon us: because he is our good Father who is able to be present anywhere at a time. He is all in all, and our sure refuge in our troubles. (Psalm 46:1)
In believers the Spirit of God abides. He was sent to protect, console and help us here on this earth, while we live here among wicked people who have banished God from their lives.
That Spirit of God, that people of the world cannot feel or accept, is present and lives in our souls: in those who believe in God the Father by Jesus Christ our Saviour.
He is the comforter promised by Jesus, that was sent after He was back in Heaven with the Father.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:16,17
If we believe in the Father and in the Son, we must believe in and accept the Spirit of God also, because he was sent by the Father and the Son. He is with us, to intercede for the children of God, and He lives with and defends us against our enemies. Through the Spirit of God we will have protection in tribulation.
Let’s be grateful to God for his great love with which He loved us, through Jesus Christ; and also for the Holy Spirit, who lives in believers
Thank you Jesus. AMEN.
