The power of the gospel

What is the gospel? The word “gospel” means good news, but not just any good news—the greatest news ever announced to humanity. Even though many today have exchanged this message for ideas far removed from its true meaning, the authentic gospel remains unchanged: Christ came into the world, died on the cross for sinners, was buried, and rose again on the third day to give eternal life to all who believe. This is the good news that saves, restores, and transforms.

The Word of God says in Romans 1:16–17:

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 1:16–17

It is important to highlight that this letter was written not to Jews, but to Romans—a people who had not been known as God’s covenant people. Yet Paul, moved by the Holy Spirit, brings them the message of salvation. He takes the gospel to those outside the Jewish nation, demonstrating that the good news is not limited to one group but is for the entire world. The Romans surely knew who Paul had been before: a Pharisee of Pharisees, trained under Gamaliel, zealous for the law, and once a fierce persecutor of the church. But now he stands before them with a radically transformed life.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel.” These words carry profound meaning. Paul, once admired by the religious elite of Israel, was now rejected by them. The Pharisees and teachers of the law likely mocked him, calling him a traitor to their traditions. But Paul no longer cared about human praise. He was not ashamed of his new life, his Savior, or the message he preached. Why? Because the gospel is the power of God. He rejoiced to proclaim the most important news ever delivered to mankind.

And why is this message the power of God? Because it is the only message that has the power to raise the spiritually dead. The gospel alone can bring a sinner out of darkness and into the marvelous light of Christ. It is the only message that can break chains, transform hearts, restore families, and completely change a person’s eternal destiny. No philosophy, no human wisdom, and no earthly system compares to the saving power of the gospel.

The gospel is the power of God because in it God reveals His righteousness—His plan to declare sinners righteous, not through works, not through human merit, but through faith in Jesus Christ. “The just shall live by faith.” This truth shook the world in Paul’s day, and it continues to shake hearts today.

This message has transformed us. We who once were lost, blind, and without hope have been rescued by this good news. And for that reason, we are not ashamed of the gospel. Even if the world mocks us or looks down on our faith, we stand firm with Paul and boldly declare: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation.”

May this truth remain alive in us every day. May we never be silent or timid about the message that saved our souls. The gospel is God’s gift, God’s power, and God’s glory revealed to the world.

Our best praise
Jesus is walking by your side, do you know Him?

  3. The power of the gospel
    ===================
God be blessed by all his people and all his Creation: for he is love and has loved this World in such a way that he sent his beloved Son Jesus Christ to die on a Cross. He had mercy on sinners who believe in Him through Jesus Christ.

The blessed Gospel of Jesus Christ is life for those who believe, but it is condemnation to those who do not believe on Him. As is written:

“He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)

This Gospel is a wonder and our liberation from the Devil’s power. The Gospel, indeed, is the power of God to salvation; and it is manifested by faith in those who hope for the Lord Jesus Christ and his Work.

The Word of God says in Romans 1: 16-17
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’”

May all of us, who have believed in Jesus Christ, give all honor and glory to the Father and Son, and to the Holy Spirit of God
