There are times when discouragement comes to our spirit and we feel that God is not with us, however it is not so, we must trust every day that He is around us, and that He will take care of us and will protect us in any situation. As He says in His word in the book of psalms:
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23: 1-4
When difficulties come to your life always think of Him who chose you and told you to come with all your burdens and He will make you rest. If He called you, He will strengthen you and take care of you in whatever situation you find yourself in.
We can also see a biblical quote that Jesus said when he was leaving this earth.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:16
Here we can see how Jesus says that He is going away but that He will pray to the Father to send the Comforter so that He will always be with us. It is good that we have pending that the Holy Spirit will be with us at all times, in anguish, in hunger, in pestilence, in nakedness, and in weakness.
And it is good that when we are going through this type of process we do not lose heart because the Holy Spirit will be with us always because he will always comfort our spirit, and because he will be with us until the end of the world.
The following biblical will help us to reflect every day on everything that happen to us in our daily lives, and that we keep in mind that Jesus is our Good Shepherd, and that he will continue to be our Good Shepherd.
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Psalm 5:11
In moments of weakness, the human heart tends to forget the promises of God. We focus so much on what we feel that we lose sight of what He has declared. However, the Scriptures remind us that God’s presence is constant, even when our emotions fail to perceive it. The psalmist expresses deep confidence in the Lord as Shepherd, Guide, Protector, and Sustainer, showing that His care extends to every corner of our lives. This means that when fear rises or confusion surrounds us, His rod and His staff continue to guide and comfort us.
Jesus Himself understood the struggles that His disciples—and we today—would face. That is why He made the precious promise of the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is not a distant presence but a daily companion. He strengthens us when our strength seems gone, He brings peace to the restless heart, and He gives light when the path becomes uncertain. His work in our lives is a reminder that we are never walking alone, because God has decided to dwell in us through His Spirit.
For this reason, when trials come, instead of thinking that God has abandoned us, we should remember that these moments are opportunities to experience His nearness in a deeper way. Many times God uses tests to develop our faith, shape our character, and remind us that our dependence must be on Him and not on our own abilities. The believer who trusts in the Lord learns to rejoice—not because the circumstances are easy, but because he knows that God defends, sustains, and accompanies him.
Just as Psalm 5:11 teaches, joy is the result of trust. Those who put their confidence in the Lord find in Him a refuge that cannot be shaken. Life may present storms, but God’s protection remains firm. When His name is loved, honored, and remembered, the heart finds reasons to rejoice even in the midst of difficulty. And this joy is not superficial; it is born from the assurance that God is faithful, that He keeps His promises, and that He never abandons His people.
Therefore, every day we should remind our soul that the Lord is our Shepherd. He guides us, restores us, strengthens us, and walks with us. The Holy Spirit comforts us, and our trust in God fills our lives with joy. Even when discouragement knocks at our door, God continues to be present. His love remains unchanged, and His protection continues to surround us. This truth should renew our hope and encourage us to keep moving forward with faith, remembering that God is with us today, tomorrow, and forever.

When you are having a hard time
======================
“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:3)
In our anguish, when we are waiting for the Lord God, He restores our souls. We receive comfort and peace in our souls because He is with us; and for he loves us, he helps us.
The Holy Spirit, who abides in us, makes us long for Him. And our behaviour is good because we seek Him: we strive to do things with justice in order to please Him. Our weakness is turned to strength—for no explicable reason but his grace!
That is an experience that all those who are guided by the Spirit of God have. And the only thing that explains that is the hope they have in Him.
May the Lord’s name be blessed forever
AMEN
