We believers have a spiritual food that is the Word of God, which is written in 66 books and we must eat of that food to be able to know God, since it is the written Word of God, for which it must be important for each person that belongs to the body of Christ. There is no food that can replace the Word of God, there is no other better method.
The author of the Hebrews dedicates a few verses to his readers to talk about apostasy, since in those times there were evil and dishonest men who twisted the gospel at their own convenience, thus deceiving many. But we must understand that those who were easily deceived, is because they were vulnerable because they did not eat the corresponding spiritual food.
The Bible says:
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
These verses are a rebuke to the church to who this writer wrote this letter, since having some time following the Christian truths, they still needed to be told about basic things, when they were supposed to be masters of theological truths.
Beloved brethren, we must not allow for any reason that being people with long time under the grace of Christ, we are still people who do not fully know the Christian truths, we should strive, study, spend time alone with God studying His Word.
Studying the Word of God assures us a solid food and not letting ourselves be deceived by the tricks of the enemy and by vain men who want to teach us something that is not the gospel.
