How to make your latter end great

We can associate this theme in different ways, but in this case it is very appropriate to speak about the great trial that Job went through. His story is one of the clearest biblical examples of perseverance, unwavering faith, and confidence in the sovereignty of God. Despite the indescribable pain he endured—losing his children, his wealth, his health, and even the support of his friends—Job never denied the power and majesty of the Almighty. In one of the most difficult moments of his trial, he declared with conviction that he could still see God. This teaches us that even when circumstances seem impossible, God continues to reveal Himself to those who trust in Him.

It is also important to emphasize that Job was a rich and prosperous man, yet despite his great wealth he remained humble, righteous, and obedient to God. He understood that everything he had came from the Lord, and that is why his faith did not collapse when adversity came. His humility allowed him to be guided by God even when he did not understand the purpose of his suffering.

If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

Job 8:5

One of the best ways to face any trial is by giving glory to God in the midst of it. Job teaches us this attitude: seeking God early, praying with confidence, and exalting His name even when everything seems dark. When we understand that God is the only one who has the solution to our trials, then praising Him becomes not only an act of worship but an act of trust. If only He can do all things possible, then why should we remain silent? Why should we despair, if the Almighty is on our side?

When we seek God in the morning and place our trust fully in Him, our lives begin to transition from affliction to blessing. Trials are not meant to destroy us; they are meant to refine us. God allows them so that in the midst of the process we may discover His character more deeply. We do not die in the trial—we grow. We do not remain in the valley—we come out knowing God in a greater way. And when the trial ends, there is always a moment of joy and hope prepared by God for His children.

If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

Job 8:6

The state of trial in which we find ourselves is often what leads us to seek God with greater urgency and sincerity. Trials teach us to follow His statutes, to remain firm, to be purified, and to trust that He will rise in our favor. God does not ignore the cry of the righteous; He sees our tears, hears our prayers, and comes to our aid in His perfect time. He frees us from great trials and lifts us up with His justice and His blessing.

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

Job 8:7

This verse is a powerful reminder of what God can do with a life that remains faithful during adversity. What begins small, broken, or diminished can end in abundance, restoration, and blessing. God specializes in lifting those who have been humbled by trials. He restores what was lost, strengthens what was weak, and multiplies what seemed insufficient.

I know it is very difficult to go through a trial, but be wise and listen to the powerful voice of God. Thank Him even for the difficult moment, because He uses adversity to shape our character. Let God do what He wants to do; do not complain, do not curse, and do not allow the enemy to deceive you. Simply trust in God and He will act. If He once lifted Job from his ashes and restored him abundantly, He can also do it with you. God is powerful, faithful, and He is your helper.

Surely we pay for our errors, those things we do which are not according to the Will of God.

“For the fraudulent is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.“
    (Proverbs 3;32)

Our lives are plenty of ups and downs and certainly all things we do are known of God, who justly rewards or punishes them.

“If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”
    (Job 8:6-7)

Our confidence is in the Lord. If we are fearful of people or of some kind of crisis—economic or family crisis—, it is good for us to trust in the Lord and wait patiently for him to act and judge the matter.

If we are children of God, we can be sure he will take care of us in any situation: because our way is controlled by God, and even his angels look after us.
Our Lord God will protect us and our latter end will be great. And, yes, also our afflictions shall come to an end, and we’ll enjoy the peace of the Lord.

Let the peace of God be with us.
