The usefulness of the Scriptures

How important is the Bible or Word of God? It is vital that this question resonates in our lives and so we can realize the eternal value that it has. The first thing we must understand is that this is the Word of God, which is inerrant, true, noble and that guides us to all justice and truth. It is not a simple book with the black cap that says “Holy Bible”, it is the Word of God, and it will guide us to live a full and healthy life before God.

The apostle Paul understood very well the meaning of the Scriptures and that is why he says the following:

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Friends, the apostle begins this verse 16 in a very definitive way, he says: “All Scripture is inspired by God.” I think that is the first thing we should know, that the Bible is a living book, it is a book that produces life, for the simple fact that it is the Word of God given to mankind. Today many people in the church find this book boring, they are too lazy to read it or study it, they find it a very overwhelming task for their so animated life. However, brothers, we are supposed to be anxious to know this Word, since it is the Word of God.

What is the way to be a true believer of God? The way is how Paul defines it in verse 17 and the end of verse 16: The Word of God is useful and this in order that the man of God may be perfect, fully prepared for every good work.

From today it is good that we learn the usefulness of the Holy Scriptures, since it is the way that we are well prepared.
