Sometimes we forget that the Lord examines our minds, but not only our minds, but also He searches the heart of each one of us, only God has control of everything.
Sometimes, in the rush of daily life, we overlook this great truth: that God sees beyond our actions and knows what moves us internally. We can hide our thoughts from people, but never from God. This reality should produce in us both reverence and peace, for the One who sees everything also loves us with eternal mercy.
Only God can have control of the whole world, remember that He made everything that exists around us, so that God can remove, put, do what He wants. But we have a God who is just and merciful to all.
Understanding God’s sovereignty helps us rest in His plans. He governs the universe with absolute authority, yet He deals with us with patience and compassion. His justice is perfect, and His mercy is abundant. Even when we do not understand His ways, we can trust that He never acts unfairly. Everything is under His divine order, and nothing escapes His eternal wisdom.
It is good to obey the Father in everything, obedience is better than sacrifice, many people worry about doing evil, thinking bad about others, and criticizing everyone around them.
Obedience is a theme constantly repeated in Scripture because it reveals the true state of our heart before God. Many prefer to perform outward acts of religiosity, yet refuse to submit their thoughts and attitudes to the will of the Father. True obedience begins in the mind and is expressed in our daily behavior. When we choose to think and act according to God’s Word, then our lives reflect His light to others.
Many say: “I really do this because nobody is watching me, not even God, so I can think as I want, I can kill, steal, criticize and nobody tells me anything”. Surprise, there is someone who looks at all your thoughts, He sees your iniquities and sees your wickedness, remember that everything comes to light, and more than that God sees everything, no matter where you are, be below the earth, but He sees it all.
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9
Only God knows the intentions of our hearts, only He can see our interior, He scrutinizes our mind and everything we are thinking.
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
Jeremiah 17:10
This truth should lead us to humility. The human heart is deceitful; it can hide motives even from ourselves. But God does not judge by appearances. He evaluates the deepest intentions, and according to His perfect justice He rewards or corrects us. This is why walking in integrity is essential, for God sees what no one else sees and values what no one else values.
God sees our work of our hands, He helps us to straighten our way, and change the thoughts of each one of us.
Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay are those who gain riches by unjust means. When their lives are half gone, their riches will desert them, and in the end they will prove to be fools.
Jeremiah 17:11
Let us not be unjust, but let us act with mercy, because God has mercy on everyone, and just as God does with us, we must also do with others, that your heart does not forget God, nor your mind be vain in anything. God knows everything.
Living with the awareness that God searches the heart should move us to cultivate purity, justice, and compassion. Life is temporary, and earthly riches cannot sustain the soul. What truly matters is walking uprightly before God, treating others with love, and allowing the Lord to transform our thoughts. May our actions reflect a heart that remembers who God is: sovereign, just, and full of mercy.
