They fell down, and there was none to help

Many of the people of Israel, because they did not obey the commands of the Lord, fell defeated before their enemies, who subjected them to slavery. All this happened because they were rebellious and their hearts turned away from the Lord.

Although God had freed them from slavery and forced labor, they despised the advice of the Almighty God, who had freed them from darkness to take them to a better place.

In chapter 107 of the book of Psalms, the psalmist understood that some were imprisoned with iron chains for their great rebellion, because they did not listen to the message of the Lord that could save them from their enemies.

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

Psalm 107:11-13

When we become deaf and rebellious, not listening to the advice of our God, we face calamities and are punished, because we ignore His voice.

After having sinned against the Lord, the people cried out to Him for help, because the anguish they felt was very great. It was then that God freed them from their afflictions.

Dear brothers, let us not stray from the path of the Lord. Let us listen to the advice of the One who knows everything, the One who warns us before evil comes. If we listen to our God, we will avoid suffering what these people experienced for disobeying the Lord.
