God, the perfect Father

Many children live disgusted with the behavior of their parents, by the carelessness that many express and by all kinds of irresponsibilities and even so many children say: “Whatever this is my father.” Amazing, we love them with your huge flaws, and this is good. But, we have a heavenly Father, which is perfect, and in Him there is not a single defect.

In the small opening paragraph I wrote a little about the kind of father who expresses laziness, and it should be said that, there are other parents who are good and responsible with their children, but never perfect. But I go back and I repeat: Our God is perfect and He is the best Father in the world, and we should feel extremely privileged to have a heavenly Father as our God.

God is not one of those parents who get tired of children because of how bad they can be, no! God is a patient Father and He is always calling us to repentance, He is always giving us good advice through His Word so we can be good children.

The Bible says:

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

God is always looking for us, not us for Him and a good comparison that we can make is the parable of the prodigal son, where tells us about two children and a father, one of his children decided to leave and went to live a lost life, such a point that he spent everything his father gave him and the place where he was found a great hunger was unleashed, and this son wanted at least the carob that the pigs ate. The good thing about this whole story found in Luke chapter 15, is that that son decided to return to his Father, repented of what he had committed, and what do you think? That father did not reject him, rather the Bible says:

So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Luke 15:20

What made the prodigal son good so that his father would receive him in this way? Did not he deserve to be punished with the most severe punishment? This is our heavenly Father! He has not found anything good in us, and yet He has decided to love us with an eternal love, this means a love that is not exhausted, that is forever and always. He has not found anything good in us, on the contrary, He has found all kinds of bad things, but still loves us. Is not all this wonderful?

So is our heavenly Father, a perfect Father, no earthly father can have a love as great as that of our wonderful God, His love surpasses the heavens and is greater than the wide sea.
