A time to get closer to God

Many things can separate us from the constant search for God; work, entertainment, social circles, etc. All the aforementioned separates us from being alone with God, and the truth is, given the circumstances we are experiencing today, a positive side that we can see in this is that we can use it as an opportunity to do more frequently spiritual things that we could not do in their splendor.

In the rush of everyday life, it is very easy to lose focus on what truly nourishes our soul. Responsibilities accumulate, schedules become tighter, and without noticing it, we allow spiritual disciplines to be pushed into the background. This distancing does not usually happen suddenly, but little by little, until prayer and meditation on the Word become occasional habits rather than daily necessities.

Sometimes we think a lot about the things we did when the Lord brought us into His fold, ah those early years, when we spent a lot of time praying and reading the scriptures, and we see that we just don’t have as much time as before to do those things in a more extensive way, but the truth is that God gives us moments that we must take advantage of to strengthen our spirituality in the Lord.

Those early moments in faith often remain in our memory as a reference point, reminding us of the passion and dedication we once had. However, instead of living only from nostalgia, God invites us to renew that commitment in every stage of life. Spiritual growth is not limited to a specific season; it is a constant process that adapts to our circumstances and responsibilities.

Oh dear Christian, do you love God? Well, if we love God, anything that happens to us will serve us well:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

Those who love God all things help them for good, and this is a time that should help us for good.

This promise reminds us that nothing escapes God’s control. Even situations that seem uncomfortable, restrictive, or difficult can become tools in His hands to shape our character, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to Him. When we understand this truth, our perspective changes, and instead of resisting the moment, we learn to seek God within it.

This is a time to believe more and more in God, to pray more, to spend reading and studying the Word of God more, to spend that valuable family time that work steals from us, to realize how important those loved ones are, that we won’t be able to see for a while because of social isolation. All these things work for good, and teach us to do what we could not and give more value to others.

Prayer becomes a refuge where we can pour out our worries and find peace. The Word of God becomes a lamp that illuminates our thoughts and decisions. In moments of stillness, we can hear God’s voice more clearly and reflect on areas of our lives that need correction, healing, or gratitude.

Likewise, family time takes on a renewed importance. Moments that were once rushed now become opportunities to strengthen bonds, express love, and practice patience. God uses these relationships to teach us lessons about forgiveness, humility, and service, all of which are essential elements of Christian maturity.

Let us not waste these opportunities. Instead of longing only for what used to be, let us commit ourselves to seeking God with renewed sincerity today. If we truly love Him, we can trust that every season, every pause, and every challenge will work together for our good and for His glory.
