God is just and merciful

God forgives you and continues to love you despite all your mistakes. It is an immense love that cannot be shown by anyone else.

Our God is powerful and pities us. We do not doubt that His love for us is great, but so great that He gave His life on the cross no matter that we did not deserve it. This is one of the greatest truths of the Gospel: that God loved us when we were still far from Him, broken, stained by sin, and unable to save ourselves. His forgiveness is not based on our merits but on His unchanging character. He forgives because He is good, because He is merciful, because loving is His essence.

The same Word of our Lord speaks of how wonderful His mercy is, which is renewed day by day in our lives. Every morning, without fail, God gives us another opportunity to rise, to walk, to repent, to be restored. His mercy does not expire; it does not diminish with our failures. On the contrary, His mercy grows in the midst of our weakness, because His power is perfected there. This beautiful truth should fill our hearts with hope, reminding us that even when we fall, God is willing to lift us up.

That is why we thank the Lord because He has been very good, and because He chose us to be saved. So let’s not neglect such a great salvation given by God. Salvation is a gift so precious that it deserves to be treasured every day of our lives. God called us out of darkness and brought us into His marvelous light; He rescued us from the pit and set our feet on the Rock. This salvation cost the precious blood of Christ, and for that reason we must embrace it with reverence, gratitude, and commitment.

If we commit a fault before God, let us go before Him and repent with all our heart, let us love God for His great goodness. Repentance is not a moment of shame but a doorway to restoration. God does not reject a contrite heart; rather, He draws near to those who sincerely cry out for forgiveness. He knows our weakness, He understands our struggles, and He opens His arms every time we return to Him.

1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalm 51:1-2

The psalmist David committed sin before God and asked God to have compassion and mercy. This man was deeply repentant, and that is why he makes this plea before God, but he did it because he knew that God is great in mercy. David understood that the only true cleansing comes from God, that human effort cannot erase guilt, and that only divine forgiveness restores the soul. His words reflect a heart that recognizes its failure but also a heart that fully trusts the goodness of the Lord.

We too, before God, can go humbled and ask Him to cleanse and keep us, to restore us and our rebellions to be erased. Let us be humble of the heart; let us go into the presence of God, for He will cleanse us and restore our lives completely. No stain is too deep for His mercy to remove, no wound too old for His love to heal. God specializes in restoring broken hearts and renewing wounded spirits.

And when God forgives us, He not only cleanses us—He also gives us peace. He lifts the weight of guilt, fills us with joy, and reminds us that His love is stronger than our failures. This is why we must draw near to Him constantly, acknowledging that He is our refuge, our healer, and the One who gives us new beginnings.

So today, if your heart is burdened, come before God. Confess, repent, and embrace His mercy. His forgiveness is real, His love is eternal, and His grace is sufficient to restore even the deepest wounds. God forgives you—and He still loves you.
