If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
Proverbs 25:21
Today we see this in some people, that seeing their neighbor in such a situation, they do not provide help because that person who is in need, perhaps abhors. But here the book of proverbs is exhorting us that if a person is in need, we should extend a helping hand even if that same person considers himself our enemy. This teaches us not to be equal to that person, but to be good people and to teach those who hate us to have mercy with others and love them as the word of the Lord says: love our neighbor as ourselves.
Jesus was hated, however, he healed diseases, he fed the one who was hungry, he gave drink to the one who was thirsty. In the same way, we should love our neighbor.
The book of 1 John 4:20 tells us that if you love God and hate your brother you are a liar, because if you love your brother, you also love God because God is love and if you do not love him as his Word says It’s worth nothing to serve you for so many years.
That is why we treat our neighbor well even if he treats us badly because one day this person will realize our fair treatment and after understanding this he will love us.
We see how people put together a conflict for anything regardless of the consequences, but you as a person who knows the Word of truth, exhort it with all the love that God has placed in your heart.
Here we end with this verse:
Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
