Many expect a corruptible inheritance to get out of their problems in this perishable life, but they do not remember that they have a soul to save and that there is an incorruptible inheritance that remains for all eternity:
Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
Psalm 16:5
Christ brought us out of slavery and made us children of God, and therefore His heirs. Is not this wonderful? In addition to our inheritance, our God is our cup, who sustains us, who keeps us standing.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
Psalm 16:6
Our inheritance is not only eternal, it is BEAUTIFUL. Is there anything more beautiful than living with our Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity? Think about it. Life is a brief moment. It is nothing compared to the eternity that awaits us. That is why the best inheritance is Christ Jesus, who died for us so that we may have eternal life.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
Psalm 16:7
God through His Holy Word gives us the advice we need to walk well in this passing world. In these times where bad is called good and good bad, is the best time to seek the advice that God gave us in the Holy Scriptures.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8
What beautiful words. Can you say the same? Have you put God before you? Is He the first person you ask what to do when you have to make a decision? Are your plans always placed before Him before you realize them? If you do so, He will be at your right and you will remain firm in His Ways. You will stand firm against the enemy’s ambush. You will not be moved.
