When we are wise in our own eyes, we believe that we are doing everything right, but it is not so because we are wrong, we are imperfect beings and only God can give us the wisdom to be able to move forward.
Many people pretend to practice wisdom, but for their own benefits. Although they have good times, there are bad times when they do not know what to do. They say “I know how to do all things”, “only me and nobody else can teach me because I know everything”, but when the time comes they are drowning and with shame because they could not do anything of what they proposed.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
Proverbs 3:7
The man who is wise in his own eyes will always be wrong, because he does not let anyone help him, but that person says: “I do not need help, I can only help myself”, and because he is haughty comes evil and catches him for not leaving the Lord guide him.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
Proverbs 3:8
Because the wisdom that the Lord gives to each of His children, is medicine to our body and refreshment for all those who accept His wisdom, this is the wisdom that comes from God, which is perfect.
Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
Proverbs 3:9
It is also good that we honor the Lord with our goods, that everything we do be pleasing to God, and that everything we earn be clean, so that everything present before God be pleasing.
then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:10
Be upright before the presence of the Lord and everything you do will be prosperous, and it will make you well all the time, because the Lord likes the person who acts with the wisdom from above.
