The people of Israel have been recognized as the people of God, as the apple of His eyes, God gave them great victories, showed His powerful hand with all of them in Egypt, led them through the desert, delivered them from great evils, God never abandoned them and they was always a people that could see the glory of God.
But this people, despite testing the wonders and blessings of God, often times went behind the evil and God admonished them through different prophets as narrated in the Old Testament, to the point that they were captive by Babylon, and all this for not honoring God as they should, but many times they went after idolatry and their kings did not want to recognize the words spoken by the prophets sent by God.
Jeremiah wrote a letter from God for the captives of Israel in Babylon:
12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Jeremiah 29:12-14
Our God is good and there is no one like Him, because, despite the people of Israel being rebellious, God always sought to return them to the way, why? Because God has always loved His people and in the same way when we deviate from the path God always brings us, because the one who started the good work in us will finish it.
Without a doubt, these words of encouragement from God are a prophecy of how God would deliver His people and have mercy on them and they could invoke Him again and God would listen to them.
Cry out to God, regardless of the trial, God always listens to us and I assure you that He can rid us of our worst fears.
