The Lord is my strength

The prophet Habakkuk had great confidence and faith before the Lord. The prayer that this man of God prayed in Habakkuk 3 greatly helped him to strengthen his faith and confidence in the power of the almighty Lord.

It is clear that the prophet’s strength did not come from fig trees, vines, fields or flocks, because he was aware and sure that his strength came from God.

The prophet’s prayer over Sigionoth was a cry for revival for the people, as he desired to once again see the power of God poured out upon them, and he knew that by praying to the Lord, such a wonderful work could happen.

The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

Habakkuk 3:19

The prophet’s trust in God was firm, since he asked the Lord, and the Lord answered and helped him. That is why we see this powerful statement. It is good to recognize that, with our own strength and works, things do not go well, and these wear out. Therefore, the prophet recognized that his strength did not come from the fig tree or the fields, but only from the Lord.

Brothers in Christ, no work or strength put in by ourselves can last. However, if we cry out to the Lord, as the prophet did, asking for revival and declaring with faith: “You are my strength, the one who makes my feet like those of a deer,” we can thank the Lord, because His work and His strength sustain us every day.
