Like a dog that returns to its vomit, so is the fool who repeats his foolishness

This is the nature of the foolish man, who sets his steps in motion and thus brings foolishness into action, doing everything his heart dictates.

The wise Solomon explains the nature of the foolish man, comparing him to a dog that returns to its vomit, reflecting how the fool repeats his foolishness over and over again.

Solomon mentions a number of statements about fools, describing them as lame and as those who tie the stone in the sling to prevent it from being thrown. Chapter 26 of the book of Proverbs tells us the following:

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Proverbs 26:11

Time and time again, the fool puts his feet in the void and falls because his thoughts are focused solely on committing fraud and doing evil against others.

The heart of the fool is always willing to do harm, regardless of the consequences that this will bring. They believe they have acted wisely and hope to be honored for it.

The Lord will punish the fool for his foolishness, he will shame him, and he will fall into his own trap because of his wickedness. Therefore, brothers, it is important that we pay attention to our ways and be wise through the wisdom that the Lord grants us, avoiding making our own decisions that will later bring us harsh consequences.

If we act like the fool, we will become like dogs that return to their vomit, repeating this cycle in our lives.
