Turn us back to You, O Lord

The people of Israel for their great disobedience suffered serious consequences, the Lord had turned away and they did not even have the courage to stand up before the Lord to repent.

This town experienced the harsh hand of God in judgment for them, they were looted, they no longer had the right to have land and everything was privatized by those strangers who arrived.

In the verse that we will see below, we will note that the only way in which they could be redeemed was by the request that the prophet Jeremiah was going to make, since the people were tired and wanted to return to the Lord.

Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Lamentations 5:21

The people said: return us to you, and Israel could no longer bear all that it was experiencing, but all this was due to their great disobedience before the Lord.

“Renew our days as the beginning.” They knew that without the Lord they could not live, they would be people without a shield, they did not have a defender.

As human beings, we must understand that if we turn away from our God, we will be exposed to the enemy entering our lives, we will be without divine protection and we will be easy prey, just as Israel was. Do not turn away from the Lord, He is the one who knows all things.
