Cursed is the one who attacks his neighbor secretly

This is an order given to Moses to write the law on stones on Mount Ebal. This great leader had the responsibility of keeping the people away from idolatry and of raising that stone inscribed with a law on Mount Ebal.

After crossing the Jordan River, they would build an altar to the Lord in that place, which was the Lord’s promise to the people, a place where milk and honey would flow. Every man had to fulfill the law of the Lord.

That is why in verse 24, Moses says the following, warning the people about idolatry:

Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Deuteronomy 27:24

In this order, the prophet made a declaration of curse against those who make images to be worshiped. There will be Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. These mentioned will be on the mountain to pronounce the curse. Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali shall speak, and every man of Israel shall speak loudly.

In this declaration, every man who makes a sculpture or cast image will be cursed, and all the people will say “amen.” Cursed be the man who dishonors his father or his mother, and all the people will say “amen.”

If we read from verse 17 to 26, we can observe the laws that were established and for all the people to obey them, since otherwise, the consequences would be serious. All these laws had to be accepted with an “amen.”

Nowadays, all the laws established by our God must be fulfilled, and if someone worships any image or sculpture, it is important that they stay away, since only God must be worshiped.
