The Lord will carry out His sentence on earth with speed and finality

It is clear that the Lord will always have a purpose and will preserve those who in His infinite mercy are chosen by Him, that is why the Lord Himself will promptly execute His sentence on all men in justice. These are judgments sent by the Lord for the sin of Judah.

Throughout Scripture we can clearly see that God does not act randomly or without reason. Every action of the Lord responds to His holiness, His righteousness, and His perfect will. When God preserves His people, it is not because of their merits, but because of His grace and covenant faithfulness. At the same time, when judgment comes, it is not unjust or excessive, but a righteous response to persistent sin and rebellion against His commandments.

In these cases, the powerful hand of God always fell on those peoples, as he also gives a brief example of why the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, but also had mercy on some. That is why the author of the Romans in his chapter 9 verse 28 tells us the following:

For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

Romans 9:28

This passage reminds us that God’s judgments are decisive and complete. He does not delay His purposes indefinitely, nor does He act without clarity. When the time appointed by God arrives, His work is accomplished with righteousness. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah serves as a powerful warning, but also as a testimony that even in judgment, God knows how to deliver those who remain faithful, as He did with Lot and his family.

Romans chapter 9 talks about the election of Israel and how God executes His judgments. The apostle also talks about faith and that God’s righteousness comes through faith and not by work.

Paul explains that Israel, although chosen, stumbled because they pursued righteousness through human effort rather than trusting in God’s promise. This teaching is fundamental for understanding salvation and judgment. God’s election does not eliminate human responsibility, but it clearly shows that salvation is rooted in God’s mercy and not in human achievement. Faith becomes the means by which God’s righteousness is received.

That is why in these end times we remind you that one day all the inhabitants of the earth will appear before a judgment that will determine who will be worthy of entering the Holy City and who will be thrown into the lake of fire.

The Bible consistently warns about this final judgment. It will be a moment when every work, every intention, and every heart will be exposed before God. No one will be able to justify themselves by their own strength or moral achievements. Only those who have placed their faith in Christ Jesus will be able to stand before the righteous Judge with confidence and hope.

This is why you know that to achieve justice, it must be by faith, which is in Christ Jesus, since, if you read Romans 9 in full, you will realize that Israel was after justice by works and not by faith, and because of that was that he lost his battles and sinned before God.

Seeking justice through works leads to pride and spiritual blindness. When people trust in their own efforts, they often forget their dependence on God. Israel’s experience serves as a lesson for all believers today: righteousness cannot be earned. It is a gift that flows from faith, obedience, and humility before the Lord.

Let us act as wise Christians, let us not seek justice by works, but rather act by faith, because if we do not do so, then we will be sentenced by God in judgment as Sodom and Gomorrah were.

Therefore, as believers living in these difficult times, we must examine our hearts daily. Let us remain firm in faith, trusting fully in the redemptive work of Christ. God’s justice is perfect, His mercy is abundant, and His call is clear: to walk humbly, to believe faithfully, and to live in obedience to His word while there is still time.

I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness
Jesus will calm your storm
