In various articles, we have talked about those who are not under God’s law, those who practice various atrocities and do not repent. These will not be welcome in the kingdom of heaven nor will they inherit the promised land that the Lord has prepared for all those who follow him.
This subject is not easy to address, but it is necessary, because the Word of God clearly teaches us that not everyone will enter the kingdom of heaven. There is a great difference between knowing about God and truly living according to His will. Many claim to be believers, but their actions deny what their mouths confess. God is not mocked, and everything that a person sows, that he will also reap.
The Scriptures constantly warn us about the consequences of living outside the law of God. Those who choose to persist in sin without repentance harden their hearts and distance themselves from the grace that God freely offers. It is not that God desires the condemnation of man, but rather that man often rejects the path of life that God sets before him.
In the biblical verse that we will see in this article, Paul talks about this class of people and what their destiny will be, since in ancient times this type of people also existed, and evil has existed from the beginning, and even times pass and they get harder.
Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, does not speak from personal opinion but from divine revelation. The sins he mentions were common in the society of his time, just as they are today. Human nature has not changed, and the battle between righteousness and sin continues in every generation.
That is why the apostle mentions different types of sin that we see in every nation in the world and this is the sad end of those who practice such things:
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:10
This list is not meant to exalt one sin over another, but to show that all sin separates man from God. Whether visible or hidden, sin has the same effect if it is not confessed and abandoned. Many people justify their actions, believing that because others commit worse acts, they themselves are safe. However, God’s standard is holiness, not comparison.
It is good that we are not ignorant of these words spoken by this man of God, the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God, that is why all of us who are in His ways, we must remain pure and not fall into these dangerous traps that he sets the enemy.
The enemy is subtle and constantly seeks opportunities to make believers stumble. Through temptation, deception, and distraction, he tries to pull the children of God away from the truth. That is why vigilance, prayer, and obedience are essential in the Christian walk. Remaining pure does not mean being perfect, but living a life of repentance and dependence on God.
Let us also be clear that chapter 22 of the gospel according to Saint John, in its final verses about this class of people, thieves, drunkards, liars, cursers, or swindlers and fornicators. None of these will inherit the kingdom of God.
The book of Revelation closes with a solemn warning, reminding us that eternity is real and that every person will face the consequences of their choices. The gates of the holy city are open to those who wash their robes, but closed to those who refuse to abandon their sinful ways.
Let us remember that to be heirs, we must be clean and pure before the Lord, because if we are like this, then we can inherit the kingdom of heaven from our heavenly father. He seeks these things in your life. God bless you.
God’s desire is that all may come to repentance and receive eternal life. His mercy is still available today, and His arms remain open to those who humble themselves and turn away from sin. Let us examine our hearts, walk in obedience, and remain faithful until the end, knowing that the promise of eternal life is reserved for those who persevere in holiness.
