I spread out my hands to You

Next we will see a supplication of the Psalmist David to God, so that he would lead in the decisions that he would take, because without God’s guidance he could do nothing.

David asked God to extend His hands to be delivered from those people who day after day stood up to fight against him. That is why God did not let him fall into the hands of his enemies, but in each battle he gave him victory.

I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

Psalm 143:6

With this expression we would come to understand that God was not paying attention to David, but it was not so, because David did it because He felt to do it this way.

David’s thirst was strong, a longing to feel that His presence was with him, that he was not alone. God’s support was so visible that God manifested himself to David in a very powerful way.

Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

Psalm 143:7

David’s thirst for God was so great that he asked for an answer because of his great need. David, receiving so many attacks from his enemies, had his spirit was dejected. God came in his help and strengthened him.

Sometimes it is not that God hides his face, but that He allows you to go through bad times for Him to glorify in a great way. Remember that the Lord is not late, He is at the right time.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Psalm 143:8

In verse 8 David asks God to continue directing him day after day, to be able to hear of his mercies every morning, and that the path he walked was a path where God agreed. David’s trust was God, for David there was no one else to trust, only in God.

Let us trust Him, to Him let us give all our cry, because He comes at the right time. God does not let you die in the midst of war, He is watching you. Sometimes God wants to see our cry, that we pray to Him, that we say that we are thirsty as expressed by the psalmist David.

Sinners, cleanse your hands
Look at my affliction that I suffer, have mercy on me
