The time is near (part 2)

Brothers in Christ, we had already dedicated an article to talk about the time of our Lord is near, and we will talk about it again, that’s why this article has the same title (part 2). These times that we have had to live are very difficult and the day when our Lord appears in heaven is getting closer to fulfill the promise that he will return.

We live in days marked by uncertainty, moral confusion, and spiritual coldness. Many hearts are distracted by the worries of this world, while others have become comfortable with a faith that does not demand vigilance or commitment. However, Scripture constantly reminds us that the people of God must live with their eyes fixed on heaven, understanding that this present world is temporary and that the promises of God are sure and faithful.

In the book of Revelation we see that John who saw and heard all these faithful and true words, let us remember well that Jesus himself had warned of His coming, and the angel reminded John about the arrival of our Lord. Let’s be prepared.

The message given to John was not meant to create fear, but to awaken awareness and hope in the hearts of believers. The return of Christ is not a myth, nor is it an allegory; it is a divine promise that will be fulfilled at the appointed time. Every warning written in Revelation serves as a call to remain faithful, to persevere in holiness, and to walk in obedience even when the world chooses darkness over light.

In the next verse chapter 22 we will see part of the final words of this book, about the return of Jesus and the end times. The wicked will have their reward, the return of Christ will take many by surprise, because they believe that his arrival will not come or will take time, but it is not:

And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Revelation 22:10

These words clearly teach us that the message of prophecy must not be hidden or delayed. God wanted every generation to hear this warning, because every generation must live as if the Lord could return at any moment. The expression “the time is at hand” does not only speak of chronology, but of spiritual urgency. It calls us to examine our lives, our priorities, and our relationship with God.

At that moment there will be no time to repent, it will be too late for those who did not wash their clothes, through the centuries this warning has been made, but many are lost in their delights and disordered thoughts, believing that it is not yet time for the return of Christ, and thinking that death is far away, waiting only for the last moment to accept Jesus.

This attitude has been repeated throughout history. Many assume they will always have tomorrow, ignoring that life is fragile and uncertain. The danger lies in postponing repentance and obedience, forgetting that salvation is not a last-minute decision, but a daily walk with Christ. The Bible warns us that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night, when many least expect it.

But, blessed are those who washed their clothes to enjoy that great day of redemption, all who are firm on that day will have part and right to the tree of life and will enter through the gates of the new city. These are faithful and true words.

Those who remain faithful are not perfect people, but humble believers who have placed their trust in the grace of God and strive to live according to His will. Washing their clothes symbolizes a life cleansed by repentance, faith, and obedience. These are the ones who patiently endure trials, resist sin, and continue to hope even when circumstances are difficult.

The promise of entering the new city is a reminder that our final destination is not here. God has prepared an eternal inheritance for those who love Him, a place where there will be no pain, no death, and no sorrow. This hope strengthens us to continue forward, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Do you want to be right in this great celebration? Come closer to the Lord and repent now that there is time. God bless you.
