Oh brothers, let us be calm and convinced that the mercy and great goodness of God will walk after us every day. Follow humility in the ways of the Lord, because our God is pleased with this.
God himself exalts the humble, he helps them at all times, but what will become of those impious who are haughty? The Bible tells us the following about the wicked:
The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
God’s mercies and goodness are for the humble. Those who have no mercy only await punishment and perpetual damnation if they do not repent of their actions.
The entire Bible teaches us that God is with those who are humble but stays away from the haughty. These haughty, although they seem to prosper in this world, will have no part or lot in the promised land reserved for those who walked straight before God.
Let us praise God for his marvelous goodness, let us ask him to help us remain humble before him, because everyone who walks disorderly before the Lord will be humiliated.
