This is the pay for the wicked, for the wicked of the earth, those who have no mercy and carry a lofty heart: they will be humbled before God.
Their prosperity will not last, their feet will stumble and their memories will be disturbed, Almighty God will darken their ways, because the judging and just God will pay them according to their works, which are evil.
You, then, a man of a haughty heart, what could happen before God who is judge? God humiliates these and makes them feel ashamed. These are the words we find in the book of Psalms:
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Psalm 75:7
That person whose heart is far from God, cannot be pleasing before God at all, because God humiliates those with a haughty heart, for this reason it is good that the human being finds the way to reconciliation with God.
It is clear that the Lord humbles some and exalts others. Do you want to be praised by God? Leave your arrogance, act with piety, fulfill what the Word of him says correctly, and on that great day of final judgment you will be separated to go and dwell with Him for eternity.
But those who were arrogant during their lives on earth, who committed impieties and did not repent, these will also be separated, but not to dwell with Christ in the new Jerusalem, but rather they will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone. God have mercy on us.
