Why do many think they are not being seen by God? From heaven God looks at all those false prophets, every teacher who deceives, teaching the opposite about the laws and statutes of the Lord, destruction and a dense darkness awaits them.
In the verse that we will see in this article, we will note the judgment that will fall on those men whose thoughts are only in taking false promises, involving people under their deceptions and distorting the word of God.
Throughout history, God has always exposed false teachers who rise up among the people to distort His truth. These individuals often claim divine authority, yet their message contradicts Scripture. They speak what people want to hear instead of what God has commanded. Although many follow them blindly, the Lord sees every action, intention, and word spoken in His name.
Many of these false prophets believe that because judgment does not come immediately, they are hidden from God’s eyes. However, Scripture makes it clear that God observes everything from heaven. Nothing is concealed from Him, and every false teaching will be brought to light in due time.
Peter, servant of the Lord, talks about false prophets and teachers, and talks about what will come to each of them:
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
2 Peter 2:17
This image clearly describes the emptiness of false doctrine. A well without water promises refreshment but leaves those who come to it disappointed. In the same way, false teachers promise blessings, prosperity, or salvation without repentance, but their message cannot give true spiritual life.
It is very evident that every deceitful man, and more when it comes to misleading a child of God, taking false promises and false prophecies, will have a bitter end.
The punishment of these people who seek to mislead others is a special punishment, because see how Peter says that they will be imprisoned in the darkest darkness for eternity of eternities.
This severe judgment reflects the seriousness of their sin. Misleading others spiritually causes eternal damage. By twisting the Word of God, they lead souls away from repentance, holiness, and obedience. The Lord does not take lightly those who corrupt His truth for personal gain.
False teachers often appear humble and persuasive, but their teachings reveal their true nature. They remove the fear of God, minimize sin, and exalt human desires above divine commandments. Such teaching produces confusion, pride, and spiritual blindness.
That is why believers must remain alert and grounded in Scripture. We are called to examine every doctrine carefully and measure it against the Word of God. Emotional messages and impressive speeches are not proof of divine truth; only alignment with Scripture confirms that a teaching comes from the Lord.
God allows false prophets for a time so that the hearts of His people may be tested. Those who truly belong to God will recognize His voice and reject deception. Discernment is a gift that grows when we walk in obedience and humility before Him.
Brothers, that is why our Lord clearly warned us about false prophets and false teachers, who seek to deceive many, taking false promises, but remember that we are of God and everyone who is of God knows when someone comes from part of the Lord or when it is a deceitful spirit. God bless you.
Let us remain faithful to the truth, studying the Scriptures daily and seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Only by staying close to God can we avoid deception and walk securely in the light of His eternal Word.
