This God is our God forever and ever

Let us give praise to our God, who is wonderful forever, let us give thanks because we have reached Him in a great way, let us exalt His name to the sound of songs.

Yes, this is our God who has delivered us, He has helped us to carry on. God helped people to be able to walk in ancient times, that is why we see these words in one of the songs of the sons of Korah:

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Psalm 48:14

This psalm 48 begins by giving praise to the Lord, exalting His name. We must praise God wherever he wants us to be, be it on the mountain, in the towns and wherever we step. Our God must always be praised eternally and forever.

Brothers, let us recognize the greatness of our God, let us praise His name forever. He reigns forever and ever, amen.

When the psalmist declares that God will be our guide even unto death, he is reminding us that the Lord’s faithfulness does not depend on seasons or circumstances. Human strength fades, plans fail, and paths become uncertain, but God remains constant. He is not a temporary refuge, but an eternal guide who walks with His people through every stage of life, from the beginning of our journey until our final breath.

The sons of Korah understood something very profound about worship. Their song was not written only for moments of joy, but also for times of difficulty. Praising God is not limited to when everything is going well; true praise rises even in the midst of trials. When we lift our voices to exalt Him, we are declaring that He is sovereign above our problems and greater than any fear that may surround us.

Throughout Scripture we see that God guided His people step by step. He guided Abraham when he did not know where he was going. He guided Israel through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He guided David through persecution and danger. In the same way, He continues to guide His children today, even when the road seems unclear and the future uncertain.

To say that God is our God forever and ever is to affirm a covenant relationship. He is not only the God of the past or the God of our ancestors; He is our God today. He walks with us in our present struggles, listens to our prayers, strengthens our faith, and renews our hope. This truth should fill our hearts with gratitude and move us to worship Him with sincerity.

Praise is also a powerful testimony. When we exalt God openly, we show the world that our trust is not placed in our own abilities, but in the Lord who sustains us. Worship becomes a declaration of faith, a reminder to our own hearts that God is in control and that His promises never fail.

Let us then make praise a constant practice in our lives. Let us praise Him in the morning for His mercies that are new every day, and let us praise Him at night for His protection and care. In moments of joy, let our praise overflow with thanksgiving, and in moments of sorrow, let our praise become an act of trust.

May we always remember that the God we serve is eternal, faithful, and worthy of all honor. He is our guide, our refuge, and our strength. As long as we live, and even beyond this life, He will remain our God. Therefore, let us continue to exalt His name with our words, our actions, and our entire lives, for He alone deserves all praise and glory.
