Word Christ banned from Chinese messaging app WeChat

China is one of those countries where being a Christian is something really complicated, because in this country there is constant persecution of Christianity.

Recently in China a new law on the use of the internet came into force that tightens censorship against Christian content on social networks, and that is that in the popular Chinese instant messaging app WeChat, the word “Christ” can no longer be used , to give an example of the censorship of this new law.

The Early Covenant Church testifies to this, as they have found that they cannot send the word Christ on WeChat.

Using the word “Christ” is “violating the app’s policies”, so the Early Covenant Church filed an appeal, and the response was puzzling:

The word ‘Christ’ you are trying to post violates Internet Information Services standards, including but not limited to the following categories:

– Pornography, gambling and drug abuse;
– Excessive marketing;
– Incitement.

It’s amazing how the word Christ is put in the same category as: “Porn, drugs, etc.” Without a doubt, this is a more than obvious sign of persecution against the things of God.

The persecution is not only physical, but also virtual. What do you think of this topic?. Leave us a comment.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me
