The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me

Having full confidence in our Lord is the best thing that can happen in the life of the human being and more so in that of everyone who follows His ways, who obeys His Word.

God’s mercy surrounds us every day, that is why we must trust in the Lord, trust that His faithfulness is forever, His love is our refuge and fills us with grace, that is why we must praise and glorify His Holy Name, sing songs of rejoicing at His mighty wonders.

Let’s sing just as the people of Israel sang when they crossed the Red Sea, this was a huge victory which was given by God, delivering them from their enemies and defeating them with great power.

In Psalms 118:6, we will see David’s call to the people to give thanks to God for His great mercy and we also see Him thanking Him for the place and security that God gave them:

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Psalm 118:6 (KJV)

The psalmist’s confidence in the Lord was great, David had full confidence in the Lord. His heart rejoiced at the goodness and mercy that came from the Lord.

There was reason to sing psalms to the Lord, to praise His holy name and to raise his hands in victory. The words that the psalmist pronounced were very sure and of great confidence in the Lord.

It is good that we recognize the greatness and mercy of the psalmist, that we can say “The Lord is with me; and we should not fear anything, our battles are fought and won by our Lord.” God is with you, trust Him.
