The title of this article gives us a great teaching about faith in the Lord. Sometimes we ask ourselves “why don’t I get a miracle? Why don’t I have what I asked the Lord?” Well, be clear that for that to happen you have to believe and have faith that the work in the Lord is real.
The Bible teaches us and tells us that several people who were called by God, such as the disciples, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel among others, had to faithfully believe in faith in the Lord, thus depositing everything while they lived.
The Bible tells us about an event that happened in the past, we can find this in John 11:40:
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
John 11:40 (KJV)
What is said in that verse is a response from Jesus to Martha, Lazarus’ sister, who had died. She said: “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
Let us remember that Jesus was far away when Lazarus fell ill and died, when the Master received the news, He said that Lazarus was sleeping and He was going to wake him up.
It is very clear that Jesus could do this miracle without the faith of Martha and Mary, sisters of Lazarus, but we can see that the Master tells them this so that they can believe, so that they learn to have faith because in this way they would see the glory of God.
After the stone was removed from the tomb, Jesus called Lazarus and he was resurrected, something that seemed impossible to others. So let us believe in God that the impossible is possible for Him, and that He can work miracles for us. Let us believe and thus we will see the glory of God.
